I would show her how to do it:) and maybe watch YouTube tutorials together. Maybe one day say "oh what's that?...oh wait...nevermind" hopefully she will get the hints.

Ugh that's such a tough one. Definitely been there. Maybe ask if you can do her makeup for practice and do it really nice to show her how nice it can look.

if you like to wear makeup you really have to keep an open mind , especially when youre not applying it correctly. im for personal preference but you should still tell her. you dont want her to walk around lookin a hot mess! :o

Also, consider other possibilities 1) she may not listen to you, 2) what you think sloppy may not be all that bad, you may just be a perfectionist, 3) her other friends may come to her aid and convince her that her makeup looks great the way it is and how wrong you are. I've seen something like that on this site where this girl has like really harsh severe makeup look and the majority of people tell her she doesn't have to do it like that, should make it more natural etc and she just flat-out refuses cuz I guess she just really likes the way her makeup looks and then other people come in and comment how beautiful she is. So it's kind of each to their own.
