I used this at night only before bed because I don’t think it’s the right product for wearing under makeup. Anyways, I really wanted to love this with all the great reviews. But my face wouldn’t let me. It broke me out with white heads and hives. It made my face feel sore and stingy. It felt almost like that feeling from a bad sunburn. It also made my eyes swell when I woke in the morning they were puffy and swollen and red from an allergic reaction. I do have mildly sensitive skin. I also couldn’t help but notice but it made my pores look huge! I have always had small refine pores because I baby my skin. But this made my pores look huge as if they were suffocating for oxygen. I only used it 3 days and followed all the instructions. This will be my very first return to beautylish. I feel this product may be over hyped like as if maybe some of the “magic” is purely just like a placebo pill effect. I just hope I can fix my face after the damage this caused me. Depressing! The only thing I liked about it was the smell and color. I will stick to my argan oil and my Shiva Rose Glow Face Balm (which is about 100 dollars cheaper and light years better) Which my skin stays beautiful with.
Hi! I write this now after purchasing this product almost a year ago. At $150, I thought it was way overpriced because for me personally...this did nothing. Now at $180, just no!!
The Problem Solver, however, is amazing! I've repurchased it twice this year I think (at $90 each). For a $10 price increase for a product that I feel works, I totally willing to pay! I will say though, the instructions tell you to use 1 tablespoon, but this is too much for my face. I usually have Left overs and put on my body too. If you just want to use it on your face, using 1/2 is good too. Plus, for $100 now...it'll make it last longer. :)
I’ve heard so many good things about the Blue Cocoon and really wanted to love this, but it ended up making my skin & eczema worse, even though it's supposed to calm problem skin. I also used it as an eye treatment, which is another recommended use for the balm, and it made the area around my eye very red and swollen. It's not good to use essential oils near the delicate eye area so I'm not sure why this is recommended as an eye treatment. I had such high hopes for the Blue Cocoon so I was a little disappointed that it didn’t live up to my expectations.
I wanted to like this product since the reviews were so good... But this product was just too oily for my very dry skin and took way too long to absorb into the skin before makeup application (even with a tiny amount). It feels like the Eve Lom facial cleansing balm if you want a comparison. This item was my first return on beautylish.
I was uber ectastic about the product. Loved using it: brilliant balm, with a raw cacao scent that superblu glides on the skin. I loved every single second of use. However, and this is a huge con: I started breaking out like hell after 3 days coming up with arrays of clogs pores and black spots. Things that never happened in the past years. I stopped, reused some SkinCeuticals cleanser etc to have my skin back in shape and started again with the Blue Cocoon, see it really was from the product. Sadly, yes it is. It is comedogenic to the max. I gave it away... Shame
I tried this amazingly well crafted delight of a product but simply could not overcome the way it smells. I believe this boils down to personal preference.
This nourishing balm makes my skin feel so soft & plump. The problem is the fragrance is extremely strong and unfortunately it gave me a bit of a headache. I will however continue to use it but only in very very small amounts. The experience of using it is like going to the spa so it’s really really too bad about my personal issues with the smell.
To be honest looking at all the ingredients this is a GREAT product for your skin. It is a product that will definitely sooth and calm down your irritated skin but will also nourish your dry skin. There are so many different essential oils that will help with many different issues with your skin. There is some really good stuff in it.
The one thing is that the smell may not be for everyone, and it just isn't for me. It does have MYRRH Oil and FRANKINCENSE Oil, which for me, tend to be too strong. But it is funny because I have a few of my co-workers that absolutely just loves the product including how it smells, so it is most definitely to each their own.
All in all if you have some skin issues that need to be addressed or you just want to keep your great skin looking even better then it is at worth the try.
This is probably one of the priciest skincare care products that I use currently. With all the raving reviews that I've read, I knew I had to try it myself. At first, I couldn't get used to the smell. Having a keen nose, I was able to smell it for almost the entire day the first few days and honestly didn't really like the scent. (One person described the smell as being similar to the smell of henna). But after a while, I got used to it and actually like it! I've been wearing it mostly in the mornings right before I put on my makeup, and I noticed that it works well with my new foundation. (I use a makeup base but there's something about this balm that allows my makeup base n foundation to adhere better). However, I don't find it too hydrating for my uber dry skin at the moment with the dry cold weather where I live. I think it would work well for those with normal to dry skin. But if you have really dry skin like me, you might want to sample it first if it's available.
So far, it's nothing better then Farmacy night and/or PawPaw ointment except this one had a smell that is not good. I'm still experimenting... Hoping for that miracle. You so get a lot of product though
