PERFECT Multi-tasking Eye Brush!!
At 1st glance, this brush doesn't look 2 b 'all that', but don't let it fool ya b/c it's definitely 'all that' & MORE!! Simply put, the GSN-09 is an amazing, versatile brush that can do ur ENTIRE EYE! Use the flat side 2 pack shadow on the lid, it's edge (turning it both ways) 2 apply, sweep & blend color in the crease, back 2 the flat side 4 applying shadow 2 the brow bone! And 4 my fav part--using the edge 2 create the most perfect 'outer v'!! It can also b used 4 the LLL , but I'm extremely perfectionistic about my LLL so I still prefer either my Chik GSN-11 OR Chik PS-6 'Edge' 4 that! (my 2 fav LLL brushes) I've been reaching 4 this brush FIRST over my MAC 239--which I thought I'd never do! And being Chikuhodo squirrel, it's Heavenly SOFT on the eyes so it's a joy 2 use! I honestly love this brush so much that I've already purchased 2!! Would I consider a 3rd?? U bet I would!! The Chik GS-9 is in the middle in the picture alongside other MAC, Goss, Chik, & Billy B favs of mine--mainly 4 size comparison.58 found this helpful.Erica L. Aug 15, 2014
A great daily eyeshadow brush
I've been using this everyday since I've gotten it. Even though it's extremely soft, it still picks up pigments very well. In my opinion it's very versatile too. I can easily pack on whatever eyeshadow onto my eye lid or blend eyeshadows when I need to. It's very easy to move across your eyelid and pinpoint wherever you want your eyeshadow to stay. In comparison from my own brush collection, this GSN-9 is similar in size with Wayne Goss Brush 18, but WG 18 is flatter and a smidge wider.28 found this helpful.Coco C. Apr 26, 2015
Well worth the $25! I use it to apply cream eyeshadow (Laura Mercier and Josie Maran) and the Mac Paintpot (Camel Coat) before I blend in powder eyeshadow and I love it for its precision and softness. I have small hooded eyes and this brush gets right into the folds and corners. The long thin handle enables a flick-up motion at the corners of my eyes so my hooded lid doesn't appear to droop so much. Otherwise, I can look very sad indeed! Excellent quality - you will use this brush a lot.26 found this helpful.Dasha C. Jun 09, 2015
Takes eyeshadow application to the next level.
I bought this after watching Tarababyz use it when she was doing a demo and review of the MAC wash n dry collection. I thought it made the application of eyeshadow in the outer v and crease look so easy... and it does!! It can even blend out most everything, although I do usually follow with a WG 4 or 19 for final blending. But I seriously reach for this every day. Picks up shadow so easily, and feels so luxurious on the eye. Would recommend to anybody.19 found this helpful.Annette M. May 22, 2015
I am a brush collector and so far this is a go to eyebrush for me. It is small and does a nice job laying down shadows on my inner 2/3rd of the lid. It is also smashing smoking out the lower eyelash line without irritation. I bought a second just because... Love it!!18 found this helpful.Kendra L. Feb 25, 2015
Really great for packing on pigmented shadows
This brush packs on shadows great...my favorite use for it is dark shadows because it doesn't apply too much product...you can slowly build intensity with those dark shadows which is great for an everyday look. It is super soft and you can put just the tip/end of the brush in a transition shade and smudge it on the lower lash line without any poking or irritation. This is an excellent, soft brush. I would highly recommend this to anyone! I use it everyday and can't live without it now.9 found this helpful.L R. Feb 20, 2015
So far, so good. I've tried this brush out on regular shadows (your Kat Von Ds and Urban Decays, say), loose pigments (MAC, NYX), as well as on more finicky gel-powder formulas (like MUFE). The GSN-9 performs well, but tends to do just a *little* better with straight powder/ loose pigment shadows. However, it is an incredibly soft natural hair brush, so its tendency to pick up less pigment is to be expected. That aside, I do wish the bristles were just a tiny, *teeny* bit more densely-packed, as I think this might help distribute a slightly richer pigment on application, particularly on the lid. On the whole, though, I'm pretty happy with my GSN-9, it has many uses, and I've been getting good mileage out of it so far.7 found this helpful.Tasha H. Aug 03, 2017
5 stars for quality and versatility
This is my first Chikuhodo brush and I'm very happy with it. It's a somewhat fluffy natural haired paddle style brush that when looking at, you'd think it would be best used for laying down shadows all over the lid. It can and does work well for that, but I have found my favorite use for it to be creating a sharp angle at the outer corner of my eyes with darker matte shadows and for carving a precise crease that I want to keep lower than what my typical goat haired blending brushes allow for. It's amazing for people like me with almond shaped eyes or hooded eyes because you have so much control over where you place eyeshadow and how it blends the edges just enough but not too much. It can diffuse color over a wider space, but it would take more effort and time than just using a fluffier blending brush, so I stick to larger brushes for that purpose. I don't use intensely shimmery or foiled eyeshadows with it because the hair is so incredibly soft that it can tend to eat up those kinds of thicker eyeshadows and makes application a bit more tedious. For mattes though, it's amazing. I want to try more from the GSN line. I think the GSN-10 will be my next one. Love.5 found this helpful.sammy s. Jul 23, 2016
Wonderful little brush
This is my 4th high end brush,1st Chikuhodo. I have hooded eyes amd i find this great for adding color to the outside corner since i have smaller eyes amd also for all over the lid color. The brush is so unbelievably soft amd luxurious. I love the look of this brush. Everytime you use it you know its something special.5 found this helpful.katia a. Dec 06, 2016
I kinda wish this handle was shorter... but it's an amazing brush. Super soft, a smaller and more precise Wayne Goss n.6 great for more detailed application. Sadly Chikuhodo does not have Goss prices so my collection will probably be very very small, but if this brand is within your budget, I'd say totally worth it.4 found this helpful.
