Beauty Product Reviews

If I'm not mistaken, the whole 'the collection' line is made in squirrel hair, which is genuinely the one of the softest hairs to use to make a brush out there in the market (the second is goat hair I think). This brush is a fantastic multi-tasker, not only does it allow your to powder your face without overpowering and is small enough to reach corners (e.g. sides of nose), it can be also used as a highlighter/ contour brush. In my opinion, best brush to contour for guys as this brush is tapered enough to give that precise line/shading.

The brush's surface is wider than I thought, and I have a wide face (or so I've heard). Overall, a fantastic foundation brush but since the bristles are so splayed out and not as condensed (e.g. as the Real Technique's Buffing Brush or Wayne's brush 13), I recommend using another brush (e.g. a paddle brush or your fingers) to place the foundation onto your face then this brush for blending.

Another thing that should be noted is that the handle for this brush is short. Not my cup of tea but workable. The bristles are soft but not the softest that I have felt, perhaps intentional because bristles that are too soft can't blend foundations that are not as liquid in texture.

Overall, brilliant idea. Similar product to this would be the Kevyn Aucoin's SSE but I actually prefer the Custom C. Drops as it is liquid and the amount you add into whatever you are adding it to can be easily measured in 'drops'. Also love the fact that you can add this to your sunscreen making it a high spf (I wear high spf sunscreens) foundation.

Con: Easily spill-able. The inside does not have like a plastic cover what-cha-call-it so make sure to not it over when it is unscrewed.

Shade reference: I wear g30. I'm nc20-23 isn, Chanel Foundation in 20 (sometimes mixed with 10), Dior 011+ a smidgen of 020, Charlotte T.'s Light wonder in 3, Kevyn A.'s SSE in 5.

First look: very similar to the Real technique's expert face brush, but once used, this is so much better. This is less dense, thus absorbs less product and blends like a dream. Can be used with a buffing motion or the way you use a flat paddle brush, both creates a flawless base.

Con: If you don't wash this once in a while, it will make your application streak.
