HG perfection
This is an excellent brush. It’s obvious that a lot of thought went into this brush. I’m back to purchase another. I have an insane amount of brushes. I really don’t need to be buying any brushes but this brush fits a gap in my collection and is one that I bet everyone needs. It mimics your fingertip and places those messy glitters and metallics (that I normally stay away from) with precision and makes them look so smooth and with barely any fallout. I can finally use my Armani eyes to kill pot shadows without cleaning up fall out for days and don’t have to avoid the Glitter shade in the Tom Ford or Charlotte Tilbury palette. And this brush will make Natasha Denona and Anastasia shadows sing like never before. HG status for sure!!
Love/hate
I hate that I love this stuff. I mean, $70 for a face mist!? I bought it as a splurge but really this is a glorious product. The smell of course is amazing but that is not what makes this a great product for me. I believe the silver helps prevent breakouts. I haven't had one pimple since using this spray. I ran out and am back to dealing with the random pimples that plague me. So even though I wasn't planning on making this a staple, I guess I will be repurchasing.
Worth it
This is a gorgeous book. It is very thorough with great photos and descriptions. I gave it to a cousin who is just getting into makeup and she loves it. It does talk a lot about the Rae Morris brushes but that part was actually helpful for a beginner to see what type/shape of brush works best.
Proceed with caution
I don't consider myself as having sensitive skin. I've used some very strong peels in the past without irritation (including the ordinary's 30% peeling solution) so I thought I would be a good candidate for this product. I used this one time, mixed with argan oil and my skin looked 10 years older for almost a week. It was dull, dry, sensitized and the fine lines on my forehead were more emphasized. I know it was this product because I dont use more than one new product at a time. I had to do a moisture mask every day for a week before my skin looked normal again. To be fair, I should have patch tested but I figured since I had teflon skin I wouldn't have any issues. The one positive is that my skin tone looked brighter overall. So yeah, be careful. Do a patch test and don't assume your skin can handle this very strong acid.
Brilliant
I got this in medium not knowing if it would work for my skin tone (NC50 in Mac) and it does a beautiful job. I'm so vain when I wear this, I just can't stop looking in the mirror. It gives me a golden glow that looks like a fairy kissed me. And it is a cream to powder that does not emphasize the pores or texture. Brilliant! Literally. I liked using it with beauty blender. I also got the powder in medium but don't like using it with the cream because it neutralized the golden-ness (I know, I made it up) of the cream shimmer. But the powder is great on its own.
PS: makes a great eyeshadow too
incredible
I normally don't leave reviews but I had to for this product! I am not a fan of the liquid lipstick. I've tried them all and I just don't like how dry they feel or how they wear throughout the day. I am so impressed with Jefree Star's lipsticks though. I don't know how he did it but these are super comfy and wear beautifully. I'm in love! I got blue velvet which is so gorgeous. And this is coming from a neutral makeup lover. My husband even likes it on me. I also got hoe hoe hoe and OMG, those little hidden pink shimmers stole my heart. If you are on the fence, go for it!
