Beauty Product Reviews

Amazing multipurpose brush!

I bought this more out of curiosity, as I suspected the Sculpt One would be my ultimate setting powder brush. But that was out of stock. Best choice ever! This is wonderfully soft and easy to use, and gives a great finish with both setting powders and mineral powders (though you would need to use a light hand for a really light coverage). I then tried it for under chin contour and for bronzer which surprisingly also worked well! You can put product on half the brush, stipple and blend. It even puts on viseart pigmented blushes seamlessly, as you can stipple them in and then blend them perfectly - and I’ve tried many blush brushes including chikuhodo and WG, yet none work as well as this. It’s too bulky to easily work well under the eye or to do highlight or cheek contour, but for most other face powders this brush can work well! A great surprise hit for me, well done Sonia G!

My last eye brush - wish it had been my first!

Wow! I've been on a mission to get my HG eye brushes, and I've gone through a large number of cheaper and high end brushes to find them. I now have many I love - pencil (WG05 and Chikuhodo Z10), crease (WG17 and Zoeva 231), base (WG16), and lid laydown (Chikuhodo GSN09). But I hadn't found the blending brush for me. So I tried this one - and I'm astounded at how one brush can actually perform all of these tasks as well as blending!

It's big enough to do your base shadow quickly, yet is tapered so well at the tip that it can reach the inner corners of the eye for lid laydown, it can do a outer v, it can do a beautifully blended cut crease with a sharp transition if you want it (I think it's replacing my other HG crease brushes!), and it even works for lining the lower lash line with shadow if you're careful. How is this even possible?! And the beautifully soft squirrel hair doesn't stain or hold onto shadow colour as much as goat hair does, so I can easily brush it onto a stippling sponge to clean it in between colours so I can use it for multiple purposes without muddying my shadow. The only thing it can't do is a sharp thin eyeliner. I am in awe of the artistry of this brush - and if I had bought it first, I doubt I'd have needed to keep looking for so many others.

If you're thinking about starting to invest in higher end eye brushes, do yourself a favour and just try this one - it may cost more initially, but you're likely to save in the long run!

Delivers exactly as intended - lovely light application of pressed or loose powders

I bought this brush to try and get super light application of loose face powder, and it is big enough and subtle enough to do that. But then I had a play around with it, and it also applied very pigmented Viseart dark violet eyeshadow as a even, light blush with no problem, and applied my loose pigment shimmer mineral eyeshadow pigment as a light wash highlighter! It doesn't feel strong enough to pick up pressed powder, yet it does in a very subtle and even way. You'll get a stronger application using loose powders as it will pick up more, but you can knock off some excess if you're wanting to keep it even more subtle. This brush does exactly what it says, delivers the lightest possible application of powder in a buildable way. It is definitely a lot softer and lighter in application than the Wayne Goss 14, so it is worth having both - this is several shades lighter again. I'm sold - this is a very useful addition to my tool kit that I have not had before.
