Beauty Product Reviews

Good product, but I don't see much difference between this and the clear gel.

I have dark tan skin and black hair and I use this product in the color Granite. It's a cool dark brown with some gold shimmers running throughout. This product does nothing on its own without product underneath. The shimmers are supposed to add dimension, leaving a more natural effect. Not sure if I see this either. I do like the hold it gives and as I brush the product through my eyebrow hairs it does disperse whatever I'm wearing underneath which improves the look. I like to have either this or the clear brow gel, but not both, as I do not see too much of a difference between them when it comes to the final look.

I love Anastasia brow products and always have a brow pencil (Wiz or Definer), Dipbrow Pomade, Brow Gel (tinted or clear), and Brow Powder Duo in rotation.

Great for bold instragram brows, not so much for an everyday look on me.

I have soft black hair and dark tan skin. I've had this product in Dark Brown (when my hair was colored lighter and Ebony (now that most of my hair is back to black). When I take my time and really try, I get really great results. But I do have to take my time, and I almost always have to clean up with concealer, which is the downfall of this product, as I prefer a more natural look and a faster product. For me, I use this product when I'm going out and have will be photographed, but prefer a more natural product for the day time.

Perfect product for cleaning up brows and priming lids.

I have dark tan skin with yellow-neutral undertones and I use this product in the shade Base 3. Honestly, I've moved away from the carved brow look on an everyday basis, but when I do go for that look I love using this product! It's the perfect shade for my complexion, covers well without looking heavy, and spreads really nicely over the skin without actually smudging. This is better than any of the concealers I have every tried to use. I also use it as an eyeshadow base, and I like the tone way better than any of the MAC Paint Pots.

I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the fact that Base 3 is the darkest shade. It’s nice and natural on my skin tone, but for someone darker than me it wouldn't offer that same natural effect.

Been using this for years and it's never let me down.

I have soft black hair and dark tan skin. I've been wearing this brow powder in Dark Brown for years (since it first came out) and it lasts forever before I hit pan. I love how the two colors help me achieve a natural look. Now that my hair is black and not brown I will probably repurchase in Granite or Ebony. No matter what, I'll always have this product in my collection because it helps me achieve a quick, natural brow.

Only if you're REALLY going for the natural look

For a green beauty mascara this is fine. It separates my lashes, is suuuuper black, but doesn't exactly add volume. If you're looking for a mascara in general, I would pass on this one. There are many, many others at this price point and lower that do a much better job. But, if you are specifically looking for a mascara with all natural ingredients that doesn't smudge and you're fine with spending the money, then this could be a serious contender.

Amazing product, but not for those sensitive to coconut oil

I'm giving this product five stars because it is the best looking green beauty foundation I have ever tried. The coverage is buildable, it blends out well with fingers or a beauty blender, and it wears beautifully as the day goes on. I wouldn't call this a long-wearing foundation, but it does fade gracefully, unlike many other foundations which break up or bunch unflatteringly. I have dark tan skin (MAC NC 45, Vapour Beauty 135, Glossier Dark) and the shade 55 works perfectly as a foundation and I use 44 as I highlighting concealer.

My only caution is to those with sensitivities to coconut oil derivatives. I find that if I wear this every day for a week my skin will begin to react. I know this is supposed to be a "detox" and not actual acne, but either way, I have to be careful.

You need to know what you're getting into before you purchase

I used this product in Karma along with the rms beauty Contour Bronze to create a glossy lid look for my blog. It helped create the glossy, sooty, creasy, undone eye look that I was going for at the time. The shine was unreal! However, I would never use this for anything but that and do not plan on purchasing this product in any other shades. I already know I won't be able to use it all up before it expires (not that I ever use up my makeup...).

If you want that lived in eye look this product is perfect, but if you're expecting a cream eyeshadow that performs like the Tom Ford or Charlotte Tilbury you will be sorely disappointed.

My favorite powder for setting around the face

I purchased this powder because I was nervous about whether the translucent powder would register ashy on my dark tan skin tone. It has now become my favorite powder to set the face. I wear 55 in the Un Cover-Up and the shade 3-4 in the powder works well for me. It does a great job at controlling oil but never leaves my face looking powdery. I do not use it under my eyes to "bake", as I prefer a translucent or yellow-tinted powder for that technique. My only complaint is that the jar is pretty small, especially compared to, well, every other loose powder I have ever purchased.

In the end, once I run out I plan on either purchasing this again or seeing how the translucent powder works for me.

Perfect contour for my dark tan skin

This is a fabulous cream contour for my complexion. In swatches and in the pot it does appear shimmery, but it once blended, the shimmer does not register on the face. On my complexion the Buriti bronzer adds some nice warmth and sheen, whereas this product actually sculpts the face. I picked it up as a cruelty-free alternative to my Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate in shade 2 and although those are big shoes to fill it's doing a pretty good job.

Overall the product lasts all day, can be built up, and provides me with a great natural contour.

Takes some time to warm up and blend in.

I have dark tan skin, so I opted for the Magic Luminizer instead of the Living Luminizer. I've had some issues really getting this product to work, but I found that as long as I do not apply over powder (duh!) and really take the time to work into the skin with my finger that I get a nice effect. This is the type of product that looks best after an hour or so, so I don't really get that instant gratification that I normally would with a powder highlighter. On my skin tone it leaves a fairly neutral shine (neither icy nor overly golden) and if I apply a good amount it can appear quite glossy.

If you have medium - dark skin this is a great option for a more sophisticated highlighted look.
