@Debbie it totally took my like two whole years of researching and trial and error to figure out how to do my big messy buns haha so because of that I'm so willing to share the way I do it in hopes of making it easier for other people! Here's how I do it:
-Tease the crown of my head with a boar teasing brush and the Aussie Aussome volume hairspray
-put my head upside down and gather hair into a ponytail
-With the ponytail band I wrap it once, then the second time I wrap it half way down my ponytail and then the third I wrap it in half again so my hair is looped.
-Tug at the bun until I get the shape I want it to be and grab the base of the bun and wiggle to get volume so my hair isn't slicked back into the bun
-bobby pin sections that need to be secured and bobby pin my bangs back
-hairspray with a flexible hold spray and scrunch the bun a little to make the frizzy hair go away and keep the bun the shape I want it
-pull out framing pieces of hair around my face
Hope this helps!! I hope I made sense haha. :)
