Perfect shadow base/liner

I have loved the Ombre Blackstars for years but this is my first Stylo Blackstar and it does not disappoint! The crayon is super creamy so it goes on without tugging your skin, but the pen shape allows precision placement, especially under the eyes. It's blendable but sets and does not budget. It works great as a shadow base, on its own, or as an eyeliner. And the color is the most perfect coppery gold. I use with Charlotte Tilbury's Star Gold and Dreamgasm eye shadow palette and the colors and products blend together beautifully. If you're looking for that perfect copper color, this is it.

5 Star Product, 1 Star Packaging

I wouldn't call this concealer full coverage but it's lovely and actually fair enough to brighten my under eyes (one of the only ones I've found). It's got good coverage and covers my dark circles without creasing. I love the product and I will purchase it again.

HOWEVER.

The packaging is one of the worst I've ever encountered. The top is almost impossible to get off. I understand that we want to keep the product from drying out, but jeez. Half the time I have to get my husband to help, and if I'm not traveling, I leave the cap loosely on instead of closing it all the way. The sponge applicator is garbage. First, the product oozed out at the bottom of the sponge along the metal rim, making it impossible to apply with the applicator. I finally ripped the sponge off and I was shocked at how much product was wasted inside the sponge. I recommend ripping the sponge off before you start twisting the product to avoid waste and make it easier to detach. (This is what I'm going to try on the next one - yes the product itself is that good!) The only good thing about this packaging is the window on the side that tells you how much is left. This is genius.

Charlotte, please, PLEASE rethink this packaging! It's unsanitary, messy, wasteful, and silly.

Gorgeous warm nudes

I finally caved and bought the Pillow Talk Luxury Palette. On my very fair, neutral skin, the shades are more of a warm orange than pink. I saw a Beauty Professor review where she said she will use all four shades in the palette, and I agree with this: all four shades are gorgeous. I find CT's eyeshadows to be extremely pigmented and very easy to blend, and this palette is consistent with that experience. This is a wonderful warm, neutral palette, although it's not as pink as I had expected based on other reviews. This is a great reminder that skin tone and undertones make a huge difference in how colors appear on your skin. I recommend searching for reviewers with skin type, tone, and undertone similar to yours to get the best sense of what it will look like on your skin.

Instant break out

I have purchased this cream twice because I want to love it that badly! It smells divine and I love Charlotte. But this is one of the only products that causes my skin to break out, every time I use it. I have dry skin so, on paper, this would be a great product for me. Alas, it was not meant to be.

Not for me

I love The Ordinary products and I use the Marula Oil twice a day, every day. But the Rose Hip Oil did not agree with my skin at all. Every time I use it I wake up with milia (little white bumps under the skin that are so hard to remove). I've seen other people say the same on online forums. I don't use it anymore but the price is right, so if you don't have a sensitivity to rose hip oil, I would definitely try the Ordinary's version. I also have the squalene, which does not cause milia for me either.

Easy peasy liner pen

This liner pen works great. It’s very easy to draw a precise line and it doesn’t bleed or feather. The color is a soft, matte black and it does not budge once applied. It’s much better than the NARS version, which I find dries out quickly and is hard to layer. It reminds me of the Kat Von D Tattoo liners.

Hello Panda Eye

I adore most of Charlotte Tilbury’s products but this one missed the mark for me. This mascara applies like a dream and looks absolutely beautiful—at first. It curls and adds volume and length. But only a few hours later, the curl is gone and I am left with black smudges under my eyes. It happens every time, even when I set my under eye concealer with powder and when I don’t wear it in my bottom lashes. I’ve tried it with several mascara primers and layered under (better) mascaras. Sadly, it’s not for me. I finally gave in and threw it away. (My personal fave is By Terry Terribly Growth Factor Mascara.)

I only use the bronze shade

This was my very first Charlotte Tilbury purchase (pre-US launch). I adore the bronze shade, and it's perfect for my very fair skin. I've been using it every day this summer. I like that it's not too warm and it's not too shimmery. I also use it in my eye crease to add definition. The highlight shade doesn't work for me at all. It's way too dark/golden on my fair skin. I think it would beautiful on most skin tones, except the very fair. But the bronze is so good that I still give it 4/5 stars even though I can't use half of it. (I'm interested in the new bronze + blush palette but haven't see it on Beautylish yet).

Lovely nighttime oil

I've been using The Ordinary products for less than a week, and I am stunned by the results. I use 3-4 drops of the Rose Hip Seed Oil as the last step in my nighttime regimen: double cleanse, tone, The Ordinary Buffet, and either The Ordinary Retinoid 2% or the Lactic Acid 5% (I switch every other day). It absorbs quickly and provides my combination skin with the perfect amount of moisture. This combination makes me do a double take in the morning: pores are minimized and my skin glows like never before. I can't wait to see the long term effects of this amazing skin care.

Softest Brushes Ever

I've loved all of Wayne's brushes but this set is amazing. I cannot get over how soft they are, even compared to their formidable predecessors. I have a few of the old brushes but have wanted to add brushes 14 and 15 for years, so I was delighted to hear about this launch. This set is unique both in color and shape, which I appreciate as a long time Wayne Goss fan. It is absolutely worth the investment whether you are just starting to build a brush collection or adding to an existing one. Congratulations, Wayne, on another fantastic brush set!
