Charlotte Tilbury: Magic Skincare

Nothing else like it!
I keep re-buying this product, because there's simply nothing else like it. I may have tried them all. It's creamy yet light, a little goes a long way. The cream smells dreamy, and adds plumpness and moisture to my sensitive skin without any negative side effects. Believe the hype on this one, under makeup it's perfect, and overnight, it's a fresh glow in the am!
It looks amazing under makeup
I think this moisturizer is the kind that looks amazing under makeup. I think that is where this brand shines. It's the type of skincare that works good for people who wear makeup. Now if you are a person who does not wear makeup and it's all about the actual skincare itself, you may not like this one. For one thing this moisturizer kind of smells like perfume. This is the kind of product that makes you feel luxurious. But if you have sensitive skin that is very reactive, I am not sure this is going to work for you. I feel like fragrance in skin care has been villainized and it's actually not that bad if it's a small amount and you do not have sensitive skin. Most of us know our skin especially if you try different things. My opinion on this particular moisturizer is that it feels very hydrating and it works really well under makeup. If you do not have reactive skin you are going to be able to enjoy this one. With that being said I would not recommend this to someone with sensitive skin because it is very fragrant which means it could cause irritation for some people. I personally enjoy the texture because it feels like a cloud but I noticed I only wear it under makeup. I don't turn to this moisturizer on a daily basis, personally. I think the reason is when you use this it's like an experience and it's very sensorial and that can be too much for me on a regular basis. So this is the kind of moisturizer where personal preference is going to really matter. Overall it is worth the cost because it literally looks absolutely stunning under my makeup and that is great.
Wow, So Worth It
For reference I’m over 40, with age my skin type has changed the dry, like Saharan desert tribe. For years I’ve heard about CT’s Magic cream and never tried it I wish I had allowed my curiosity to get the best of me earlier. Yes, it’s on the pricey side but it’s so worth it especially if you have more mature skin that’s dry. This is so hydrating and leaves your skin feeling so luxurious, it’s absolutely worth the hype and price. This now my holy grail skincare product. I really enjoy using it as primer before foundation. It grips my foundation, it’s the best. Oh, love that it’s comes in 30ml size making it more affordable. .
Hard pass for me
I was really hoping that I would be blown away by this cream that I could justify the expense. It is VERY expensive. This is a no for me. No matter how much I would use; it would leave a greasy layer on the top of my face. When I say greasy, I mean if you have a squeaky wheel that you need to oil. You could take a rag to my face and get a enough to make that squeaky wheel go away. It does nothing magical for my skin. This is definitely a purchase I regret. I highly do NOT recommend if you have a similar skin type to me. For reference, I have combo skin (Oily t-zone / dry cheeks).
Blown away
Received the Magic Cream for Christmas. Never ever has this happened, but after just 3 days of using this lovely cream I walked into work yesterday and a coworker who formerly worked for a plastic surgeon asked what I was doing differently for my skin, that my skin looked soft and glowing. Just blew me away! Can’t wait to see what happens with continued use, and I’m no spring chicken!
Yes and No
Received sample with order which was most thoughtful. Have wanted to try this for a while. The cream is amazing. It’s rich, thick, leaves a nice radiant glow without looking like you ate glitter for breakfast. And I must add even at the high price point a Lille does indeed go a long way. Reviews are spot on for this, however, reviewers that complained about the fragrance were not exaggerating. This is so strong it should come with an advisory for people with asthma and or allergies. Had to wash it off as it was leaving a waft of fragrance everywhere I went. Most disappointed as it truly is an amazing moisturizer. Offer this in an unscented version and lots more people will be able to follow the cult.
This is not as great as advertised
I saw influencers raving over this product. So before I pay (un ojo de la cara). An eye out of my face, I decided to buy the smaller size. I expected this to be thick and do wonders. What it reminded me of was the consistency of what my mom used to use years ago. PONDS night cream. This moisturizer does have a fragrance of peony. I used it as directed and I didn't feel that it did anything that a lesser moisturizer couldn't do. I went back to my l'occitane 25% ultra rich face cream.
