Fashion & Art Gallery Designer Showcase, New York Fashion Week S/S 2012

IMAN Cosmetics partnered with the Fashion & Art Gallery for their spring Designer Showcase at New York Fashion Week. The presentation highlighted two emerging talents in the fashion industry: "Project Runway" Season 5 Runner-Up Korto Momolu, and twin Somali designers Mataano. Emmy Award-Winning makeup artist Valente Frazier was the lead makeup artist for the evening.

Makeup

Valente Frazier used vibrant, bold colors to reflect Mataano's brightly-patterned collection. Valente first applied a translucent veil of Iman Cream-to-Powder Foundation, then blended Iman Sheer Finish Bronzing Powder in Afterglow for a sun-kissed finish. Eyes were defined with Iman Perfect Eyebrow Pencil in Black and Brown, Iman Perfect Eye Pencil in Ebony, Iman Eye Con Kit (Golden Romance Trio) and Iman Defining Powder in Black Magic, Vixen, Wicked and Bewitched. He loved the bright reds, oranges, corals and crèmes in the spring collection, and translated those shades on the lips with Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Iman Red and Paprika.

TIGI hairstylists DJ Riggs and Nick Irwin channeled the beach-chic aesthetic at Mataano's spring 2012 collection.

Makeup

The look at Korto Momolu was a strong smoky eye balanced with a feminine pink lip. Valente gave models a flawless finish with Iman Cream-to-Powder Foundation. He blended Iman Eye Con Kit on eyes and dabbed Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Au Natural, a dusty rose, and Iman Luxury Lip Shimmer in Crystal, on lips.

TIGI hairstylists DJ Riggs and Nick Irwin created trendy, asian-inspired hair designs at Korto Momolu.
