Beautylish New York Fashion Week Dispatch No. 4: Natural Beauty for Spring

Beautylish has been busy hopping around New York Fashion Week capturing loads of looks, and taking notes on the exciting beauty tricks and trends we’ve been seeing around the city! So far it’s been exciting and exhausting. All this style is wearing us out!

We’ll share several looks of note with you soon but, what we’ve come across again and again on the spring runways are low maintenance styles that come across as minimal and approachable, yet ethereal and undeniably feminine.

At Leila Shams, models wore their hair long, loose, and tousled paired with barely there makeup that looked fresh against brown leather harness accessories and apparel in muted shades of mint and wine. Hair was slicked back and left wavy at the ends at Rag and Bone, where models’ brows were darkened and their lips dabbed with Revlon lipsticks in plum and berry shades. The just-bitten look stood out against their stark white manicures.

Houghton showcased long loose waves which blew wildly in the outdoor runway breeze looking imperfect but practical over no nonsense subtle makeup that felt easy and edgy. The Gretchen Jones collection at Genart celebrated natural locks as well, highlighting the head with crafty Frida Kahlo-floral headdresses.

For now we’ll be rocking blunt hair and bold lips, but come spring we’ll be ready to embrace our natural side!
