Man's best friend is officially a makeover project just waiting to happen. The folks at GOOD recently published a thought-provoking infographic on just how much dough we drop on our household pets. Guess what, Beauties, owners spent 50.8 billion dollars in 2011 alone! And if you thought humans dished out a lot for beauty, 7.2% of pet spending focused on grooming and boarding services—that's around 3.5 billion dollars annually! With every Hollywood socialite walking their puppy arm candy on Rodeo Drive (thanks Paris Hilton!), it makes sense that we're knee-deep in the era of the pampered pooch. Pet resorts, spa services, couture clothing, fancy diet supplements, grooming products, and even eyeglasses (did you see Warby Parker's dogocle monocle April Fools' joke?!) are catered towards your furry friends—and it's a thriving business. Just last year, Paul Mitchell co-founder John Paul DeJoria launched Awapoochi, a hair care line specifically targeted to canines and felines. So we’ve reached a conundrum: Do our pets have it too good? Owners, sound off on which animal beauty treatments you splurge on.
