Beauty Product Reviews

Nice feel, not super opaque

I like this lipstick in that it really doesn't feel dry on the lips...especially since my lips are always dry. The one downside is that the color isn't super opaque, and it's ok since I don't think it's marketed as a crazy "amplified-like" finish. There is a lot of color, but I have to pass it more than a couple of times to get true color, which isn't a bad thing considering how it feels on the lips. I also like the scent...if you're sensitive to certain scents, I would highly recommend looking at it in the store and smelling it first before buying. It's not a typical lipstick (vanilla) smell.

Good product, weird color combo

This palette has really nice colors, but I don't think they work super well together. I mean, I get that they are from separate regular palettes, but you would think that they could all be one big happy family. I like using these shadows, but I usually have to grab other colors from to use with them. They have pretty good color payoff and they are pretty blendable...so all in all, I just wish it was a better combo of colors that work more with each other.

Cool Effect, High Maintenance??

I really like this "crackle" trend that came out earlier this year. It gives people the opportunity to cover up mistakes they make with nail polish, like how I sometimes do with glitter...it's an option :)

I bought the black mesh crackle glaze, and I really enjoyed it, experimented going in different directions. However one day, I noticed that in my bottle was a ball of black crackle!!! I guess maybe I didn't close it good? Or I think the actual problem was that because lots of the product gets stuck in the neck of the bottle, it makes the bottle hard to close, probably causing the drying of the product.

My advice is to remove the build up before you close it to store so that this doesn't happen to you!

Best Liquid Liner to Date!

I've been seeing all these new colorful liquid liners popping up, but they were all so pricey that I've been too scared to try this. Let me tell you that this one is really good! This was also the cheaper alternative to the Make Up For Ever and Stila options because not only was it cheaper, but it offered more product!

I always had problems with liquid liners staying on well, and this one is the best! It stays on so well that I have a hard time taking it off!! I also like the color selection. I wish they had a brighter purple, something just as bright as Radium but purple. Also, I really like the applicator. The other new liners had been releasing with a foam/felt tip applicator, and I thought this weird brush was going to fail...WRONG!!! Along with the long handle (which I occasionally mix up with the base holding the liquid), this brush easily draws on precise lines!

I have Revolver and Retrograde which I equally love! In the attached picture I'm wearing Retrograde. It's really pretty, and doesn't look too funky, it just changes up a neutral look! Even Revolver is a cool color. It's a gunmetal base with all different color sparkles :)

Best Liquid Foundation Brush!

I really like this brush for applying liquid foundations. I haven't had a problem with any formula, and I've been experimenting with a lot of liquid foundations lately. The brush is so soft and buffs anything on my face very nicely. And it is a multi-tasking brush in that it can apply powders too. I also like the fact that it doesn't pull liquids down to the ferrule, making the fibers all junk--most of the product stays on the tip of the brush :)

The only "downside" is that it takes a while to dry after cleaning, but I just got in the habit of when I need to wash it ( a few times a week), I'll wash it right after I do my makeup in the morning, and it's dry the next morning! But even with that, I don't consider it a major setback, it's the nature of the fibers they use to make it.

Awesome Feel, Not So Awesome Shimmer

I think one of the most annoying things about lipglosses are that they are often too sticky :( This one is not sticky at all!!! I can't explain how smooth it is and how it glides on. The packaging is very good too in that you can push the end and it will dispense product on the brush applicator.

The two things I don't really love about it is that the color range isn't that great. I think there are 10 colors, but lots of them are quite similar. I would have wanted a mauve-ish color, but I ended up getting Diva, which is a deepened nude-ish color. The other thing is that the shimmer stays on my lips even when the gloss comes off. I think it looks weird: someone walking around with random shimmer/glitter particles on their lips...no? I wish the color would stay on my lips longer, so that the residual shimmer didn't look so odd.

Anyway, the color is nice, and the product is so smooth. I hope they come out with a few more shades though!

My favorite "blending" color

I use this color pretty much everyday, whether I use it as a lid color, or to blend darker colors or harsh lines out. This color is really good for my particular skin tone to blend colors out. My "everyday" look is a light shimmery color on my lid, a dark brown in the outer corner and blended inwards on the lid and then this color in the crease to fade out everything that's on the lid.
