Hey guys, I know every makeup artist does things differently, but I was wondering do you guys conceal and do the foundation then the eyeshadow? or do you do it like me that i do the eyes first then conceal and do foundation? and why? I personally like to do the eyes first because of down fall of the eye shadow and to be able to clean up the eyes to make the eye shadow perfect!!!

I do my tinted moisturizer/concealer first. As long as I tap off a lot of excess shadow, I usually do not have problems with fall out. I've done shadow first and then face makeup and ehhh. Wasn't really a fan.

For me, it depends on the look. If its an intense or colorful look with brighter or darker eyeshadows that will fall out on the cheeks during application, then eyes first. If its a simpler, cleaner look then, I find doing foundations first is fine

it all depends on how dark your making the eyes dark eye shadow shows up in fall outs if you still want to put your foundation on first though blot some loose powder on your checks under your eyes where fall out may happen and you can just dust it away when done

Obviously, if you're going for a super dramatic look with a really far out winged liquid liner, then how is that going to affect your application of foundation? You'll most likely not cover all the skin there, or ruin the winged liner. Same with eyeshadow, if it's really dramatic and forms a far out V shape, you can ruin that with foundation too.. So, doing it how Eve Pearl does it (eye make up first, face make up after) is a must for those very dramatic eye make up looks. However, if you're gonna do something subtle and toned down, you could go the other way.
Myself I like doing the eyes first no matter what, that way I can also apply a concealer under my brows and all over my crease area and eyelids (I have pale skin, veins show through some of the skin there).

Oh and also, if you're using a really powdery eyeshadow : FALLOUT.
In which case, some people like to fix with adding concealer, brushing away with an air fan brush, using paper underneath while applying the eyeshadow, or simply remove with a wet tissue and then reapply concealer.
And again, personally, I like removing it with a wet tissue and THEN apply concealer (before applying foundation) But hey, that's just me. It saves me time and effort.

I do foundation last; only because i use a lot of pigments and glitter and there is always fallout. I use toner and moisturizer first, then my foundation then concealer. Concealer is supposedly just a "jacket" for your face, its there just to give you that extra cover-up in case foundation isnt enough. BUT depending on the look im doing, like if its a simple cat eye, ill do my eyes last and foundation first.

Eyeshadow first then concealer and foundation. Why? Fallout.

eyes first then foundation, just incase of fallout or a mistake (especially when doing something detailed on the eye). Unless i'm doing a video or am in a rush I do foundation first then eyes. When cut for time I rather go with flawless skin & use extra time to do a simple eye instead of visa versa.

I usually do my face first then eyes,
But I usually go back with a fat brush a redo under eyes when I'm done...
So maybe its time to reform! :)
Glad I read this.

I always do eyes first and then foundation. Just found its easy to clean up the fallout & fix things if I mess it up aka my winged liner. To each their own though

I've tried both and I must say foundation first If you are concerned about fall out they sell patches that go under neath the eye to catch the color

Depending upon the look. For example if you are doing a smoky look do eyes first so that you can clean any fallout up afterwards.

I always do foundation/powder first, but I try to make sure to keep away from the eyes (I don't want too much product getting in the way of the eye shadow primer/eye shadow

Foundation, concealer, and then eye makeup.
Another trick that I recently learned for dealing with fallout is to apply a thick layer of powder underneath the eyes and to brush or wipe it away after applying eye shadow and mascara.

Like everyone said, it depends on the look. Usually I'll do foundation first, because my everyday looks aren't so dramatic. I don't have problems with fallout.

I don't feel right if I do the eyes first, I do foundation then eyes and as for the shadow, I prime my eyes, tilt my head back a little to avoid the shadow dropping onto my face and that works for me

I have to try eye first face later again. The first time I did it I hated the way my face looked.
