Morning-After Skin Savers

The holiday season can mean lots of parties, dancing, and late nights. It can also mean that when you wake up the next morning, your skin is looking a little worse for the wear. Consuming alcohol, scrimping on sleep, and not taking your makeup off before you go to bed (we all do it!) can wreak as much havoc on your skin as UV rays, stress, and aging. There are lots of ways to look after yourself after a big night, including what you put on your face. "In addition to hydrating your skin with moisturizers, you should eat a high-protein meal and hydrate your body with lots of fluids and electrolytes, such as Gatorade,” says New York City-based dermatologist Cheryl Karcher, M.D. As for that dull-looking skin? We've chosen our favorite morning-after products.

1 Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer in Lemon Drop

A pop of colored eye shadow can perk you up, but if your eyes are red and tired from lack of sleep, this primer provides the perfect base. The yellow tone counteracts any redness, leaving a soft and silky surface for you to apply your favorite shadow.

2 Yes To Blueberries Brightening Face Towelettes

If you were too exhausted to take off your makeup before bed, try one of these soothing towelettes. They contain lots of vitamin C for a good dose of antioxidants, and will remove any makeup you have leftover or missed the night before.

3 Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

This cult product (makeup artists swear by it!) does everything you expect it to and more. Lots of booze and not enough sleep can make your skin look dull and less than radiant, but this balm lets you fake a fresh face! It goes on like a lotion and minimizes pores, hydrates, and makes your skin look dewy. Apply it underneath your makeup, then use a little more on your cheekbones and under your eyes for a more youthful look.
