Purple Winterball Makeup

Hey, everybody. I did a look using the Coastal Scents Winterberry palette. I thought that I would tie it together in with a Winter Ball look because I know that Winter Ball is coming up. Some schools don't have Winter Ball but what Winter Ball is it's a dance around the winter time. It usually happens like December/January for schools. I know that the schools around me have Winter Ball.

I'll show you guys an outfit at the end of the video. I'm obviously wearing it right now. I explain everything throughout the video so if you want to learn how I did this look right here, here's the whole entire look. I don't think it's too much for Winter Ball. I know I'm matching the purple on purple but I explain in the video later on. So stay tuned and let's get this tutorial started.

I'm going to prime my eyes with Painterly Paintpot by MAC. I'm going to take a Coastal Scents brush and this is a Michael Todd eye shadow in Chick. It's going to be my highlight. I'm taking the Winterberry palettes. It looks like this. I'm going to use that purple and that darker kind of purple blue color. Let's take this one first.

If you're interested in buying these individually, this one is S16. This is a Sonia Kashuk flat brush. I'm going to pat the color on the entire lid. I'm taking a pencil brush, this is Sigma's 219. I'm going to take the darker color, and this is S14 if you guys want to buy it individually. I'm going to place that right here. I'm going to take a 217 brush; this one is by MAC, and just blend out the harsh lines.

I'm going to take a blendy blush, and this is Sigma's 244. I'm taking that MAC eye shadow in Soft Brown. I'm going to blend some in my crease right here. Start right here. I'm going to take that 217 again, I took out the colors that I just used but I want to show you guys I'm going to use that purple just above that, this, this is right here. I'm going to take just a little bit of that 217. I'm going to blend this right here above that purple that I put on my lid. I can't take this white one out, it's like an icy white color. I'm using this really tiny Coastal Scent brush, and this is going to be my tear duct color. I'm thinking about sticking like a darker color just right here. Really dark, almost black gray with the same one I used my tear duct with. I'm going to apply eyeliner and I'm using my Clinique gel liner. Then I'm going to put on my Revlon Max concealer. I mean concealer, mascara. I'm going to be right back.

Okay, so I have my eyeliner and, oh, I just have eyeliner. I didn't put on mascara because I just thought of this right now. I'm going to take the dark color and I'm using the same detail brush that I used for the black and my tear duct color but I just wiped it off. I'm going to take some of that and I'm going to put that underneath here. Then I'm going to take the lighter purple, not the one on my lid but the one that I stuck right in here, with the same brush just wipe it off, and I'm going to put that right here.

I'm going to put on my mascara and I will be right back again. I already contoured with NYC bronzer and I'm going to put on my Inuovi Lollipop blush. It's a nice light peach color. I'm using the same brush that I used, this is the Sigma, this is what I used to contour, and it's the 168. So it gives us like a nice blush, it's not too much, it's not too bright but it's there and it's nice.

Okay, so for the lips, on the lips moisturize, Vaseline, I'm going to apply this Michael Todd lipstick in Morning Pink. There it is right there. I scrapped the top off because I put it in a palette to have in my kit and everything but this is a really pretty pink. I'm using my favorite lip gloss and it's by Revlon and it's called Pink Whispers. I use this quite a lot. The thing that I like about this is it's quite opaque, it's not one of those really sheer lip glosses that just make your lips look all shiny. It has a color to it so instead of bringing your lipstick and your lip gloss in your little clutch or whatever you bring whenever you go to Winter Ball. You could just bring this. It takes up less space and I know how much of a pain it could be to carry around stuff so you want to carry around as little as possible.

Here is the look minus the bags under my eyes. I've been having this horrible sleeping schedule. You guys have seen these earrings a million times again, again I will say this, I will have to say this in future videos and stuff. I'm not that into jewelry so I'm not one to go out and go crazy over accessories. If I see a nice pair of earrings I'll go ahead and buy them. I might splurge every once in a while and buy like a whole bunch of earrings and all this stuff but for the most part I don't mind reusing the earrings. Like you guys have the seen those rhinestone hoops from Bebe for like the past year that I've been on YouTube. Some people get sick of it. But it's just that I'd rather spend my money on shoes, then go ahead and buy a whole bunch of jewelry that's going to tarnish anyway because yeah.

Okay, the thing with the purple on purple, I'm going to get asked about this a lot probably because I've had a lot of questions about do you believe in matching your clothes with your make up. I said no. I said I usually say that's kind of tacky when you match totally your eye shadow and what you're wearing. But what I don't think is tacky, is when you use different shades of what you're wearing, if that makes sense.

You guys can't really tell through the camera but the purple on the outside is the more blue toned purple. This is like a, I don't know what to call it, like a deep purple and then I'm wearing that color on my lid, maybe like pink purple. So I think that it's totally OK for you to play around with different shades of the color that you're actually wearing clothes wise but then again I don't want you guys to feel like oh my God there's so many rules in make up. Don't let there be rules. If you want to match your eye shadow with your shirt or whatever you're wearing by all means do your thing. This is what I'm doing. I like this. I don't think it's too much. I mean it's Winter Ball, it's very special but it's not the biggest event in the school year. Prom is. I think it's nice and light, it's not doing too much. Let me go ahead and show you guys my whole outfit.

I'm wearing this deep purple halter top ruched dress. I don't think it's too revealing or inappropriate for a school dance. I paired it with these silver strappy heals that aren't too high because you don't want to be uncomfortable all night.
