Colorful Back To School Makeup

Hey, guys! So, today we're going to be doing a back to school look. I'm using colors on the eye, but I'm keeping it very, very subtle. You can always dial it down and make it a little bit more subtle in some areas if you feel that it's a little bit too bold for you and your taste. So, I'm using purple and a little bit of pink on the top part of the eye and then some greens on the lower part of the eye. It's really, really fun, and you can still use colors without being, you know, bold and over the top. So I hope you guys like this, and I hope you have an amazing school year.

The first thing I'm going to do is apply a base, and this is Painterly Paint Pot from MAC. It's just a very nude base. I'm going to put this right underneath my eyebrow and stop right above my crease. Then I'm going to take a creme eyeshadow from Jesse's Girl and this is called Seduction. It's like a violet purple. I'm just going to put a really, really thin layer right underneath my crease and all over my lid. Just make sure to put a really, really light layer or else it will crease, I promise. So, just a very, very light application of this. The next eyeshadow I'm going to take is called Penny Pink and this is what it looks like. It is a very pretty rose-goldish color. I'm putting it on a blending brush, like this guy. I'm going to tap off the excess so it doesn't fall onto my cheeks, and then we're going to place this in our crease. It's okay if a little bit of that gets into your lid, just as long as we have it in our crease because we're going to blend that purple color into this rosy gold color. Next, I'm going to take Ultra Violet and just push the brush into that color. Then just press it onto your lid. Just depending on how bold you want the color that will depend on how many layers you put on. I'm just going to apply one layer. If you want it to be a little bit more bold, you might want to layer maybe two or three layers. I would say two would give you a much deeper violet color. But for right now, and this is for the classroom, I'm just going to keep it kind of subtle because I do want the color but I don't want it to be too out there. Then I am going to turn my brush, just twist it like this, and then blend it into that rose color that we just applied. The purple and the rose will blend in really, really nicely together. They also have a very similar finish. The rose is kind of sparkly and it has a real slight shimmer to it and so does the Ultra Violet. So they'll both just mesh really, really easily into each other. Since we applied that Painterly Paint Pot right underneath our brow, I'm just going to leave it right there because that will act like a really natural highlight.

Then for our lower lash line, I'm using a green eyeliner from Jesse's Girl, and this is called Poison Ivy. I'm going to just fill in my lower lash line right in through here. Then I'm also going to fill in the water line. So just smudge it out along the lashes. Then we're going to take an angled brush and we're just going to manipulate that eyeshadow to just kind of smudge it, make it kind of look like it's an eyeliner. Just smudge this out. Now look at that really, really pretty contrast with that purple on top and then the green on bottom. It's just a really nice contrast of colors. And then I'm going to apply a really, really pretty lime green eyeshadow. This is called Envy. It's also from Jesse's Girl and super-duper sparkly. Look how pretty that is. Sparkly! So, I am putting it on the edge of the brush, like that. Then we're going to put this on the inner part of the lower lash line. Right in through here. Just make sure that you dab it on first, like that. Then kind of blend it in toward that purple. So, I am using like the top tip of the brush, and I'm blending that into the purple and putting it into the inner tear duct and then I am blending it into the Poison Ivy. It gives a really nice contrast. Notice how you can still see the Poison Ivy eyeliner in the water line, and then it kind of like fades out to the lime green color and then it also fades into the liner right through here.

We are done with the eyeshadow. It's really an easy look. I'm going to put on some liquid eyeliner. I'm going to be using the Lineur Intense Liquid Eyeliner from L'Oreal. Then some Plush Lash from MAC. Then I'll zoom you guys out so you can see what it looks like.

Okay. So I just applied my liquid liner and my mascara. Right now, I'm just applying Penny Pink, the eyeshadow that we used in our crease, as a blush. I already applied it to this cheek right here. I'm using a brush from Crown Brush; this is the IB105 Tapered Blush Brush. I'm just dipping it into the eyeshadow like that, and then I'm just dusting it onto my cheeks like this.

I just added a clear lip-gloss. This is from Forever 21. It looks like it's kind of pinkish, but it comes out very clear and very subtle, because I kind of have a lot of color going on on the eyes, like, you know, for a daytime school look. So, I really wanted everything else to be super-duper natural.
