Why does my makeup sometimes separate?

It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly every now and then. My foundation will like separate and look a little odd. It's only noticeable up close, but still.
Is it something to do with my face products not being a good combination?
I have oily skin if that makes any difference.

That's most likely the problem.
your foundation could also be a bad choice for your oily skin.. what do you use?
& do you use a primer or setting powder?

I use either Loreal true match or Neutrogena shine control. And yes I use both and both are Neutrogena.
Sorry it took 3 hours to get back 🙈
