Hello beautiess!! so I was wondering if any of you girls knew a face mask for sensitive/acne prone skin to help fade acne marks and brighten skin tone!! my skin is very sensitive and when something irritates it, it breaks out into cystice acne! (I know lucky me) I have tried the glam glow mud mask but that REALLY irritated my skin so I am looking for something that is more affordable and gentle on the skin!

There is one by Mario badescu the whitening mask you can try that but the best thing is a chemical peel or exfoliation with an AHA or BHA exfoliant

Thank you Diana! I will look into the whitening mask! As for the chemical peels and exfoliates, I'm kind of very afraid of using them because I feel like my face will just burn off! Lol.

Lol I definitely understand what you mean - try to go to a professional for a peel and they can probably suggest one for your sensitive skin - as you kno mine is also sensitive but not as bad as yours :P anyways AHA n BHA exfoliants are quite gentle especially BHA I use one by Paula's choice n pair it with her vitamin c serum n it has been doing wonders for my scars here is a pic of my progress after 2 weeks of use - left is old n right is new.

Oh wow that looks amazing! You can really see the difference!! I'm so glad that mask is working for you!! How long do you suggest using like the whitening mask or the stuff that your using? How many times a week have you been using it throughout the two week period?

Basically look for something with vitamin C as it will brighten up the skin

I use bio oil once a day and all my acne scars are gone and my skin tone is a lot more even now and just looks better.

I've been using Garnier dark spot treatment sheet masks and I think they actually have been helping with my acne scars. I also started using ole hendriksen's truth serum and night gel around the same time so that might also be a factor. There are also a lot of asian sheet masks that target scarring and brightening (imomoko.com - they frequently have coupon codes). I'm still waiting for my first order, but I have high hopes. I've never had issues with sheet masks on my sensitive skin and they feel amazing afterward. I like that you can pat the serum in afterward and your skin feels plump and radiant until the next day.

Nicole is here is my routine - at night I use the Paula's choice acne wash, then tone with a Mario badescu toner, then I use the Paula's choice BHA exfoliator, and follow with a vitamin c cream - for morning I wash with the Mario badescu acne cleanser, tone with the same toner then use the Paula's choice vitamin c serum on my spots and follow with SPF n a tea tree oil moisturizer - and that is my routine every day - about once a week I skip the BHA exfoliator n use an AHA exfoliator wash by Mario badescu (the glycolic foaming cleanser) and then I have used the whitening mask about once a month - but ya that's what I've been doing n it's working great for me :)

It took me awhile to find products that work well for me; I suggest you expect to try a few different brands before you find something you stick with. You might also want to consider seeking out the recommendations of a professional aesthetician at a spa or beauty salon; my skin improved tremendously after one helped me out.

I make sure to moisturize everyday, of course. Other than that, the two things I recommend most highly are a scrub (which is harsh on the skin, but helped the texture of my skin tremendously) and a mattifier or primer (which keeps my skin from looking greasy all day long).

My routine for chemical warfare vs. acne + bad skin is as follows:

Every day moisturizer & a mattifier to control oil.
Every night moisturizer & a toner with salicylic acid.
Sometimes I tone my skin after shaving; sometimes that's going to irritate my skin too much and I don't.
A few times a week I use a facial scrub.

I have a sulphur mask to get things healed up quickly when I break out & something called "stress solution" to manage redness/inflammation while I'm broken out.

The specific products I use that I recommend:
Moisturize : Beyond Hydration (Bioelements)
Mattifier: Oil Control Mattifier (Bioelements)

Scrub Everyone Can Use: Pumice Peel (Bioelements)

I've also had good results from products in Clinique.

Hey Brittany! I have heard about bio oil but I'm fraud to use to it because I think it will break me out 😔

Hey kat! I have actually already tried the garnier tissue mask but those gave me closed white heads on my face 😞

Does that mattefier help with keeping your make up on all day as well?

Emily I think my best bet is going to see a beauty expert because she will probably know everything and can help me tremendously! I have to start saving up for that!

Ahh that sucks that it broke you out! it sounds like your skin is super super sensitive so yeah, maybe getting evaluated by an expert in person would be best. Exfoliation is important like everyone has been saying, but it's difficult to find the right method when your skin is so sensitive. I'm just starting to try chemical exfoliators, but they are supposed to be better for sensitive skin. If you want a manual exfoliator, a konjac sponge is a very gentle but effective option. The normal one is good, but the aloe ones may be even better to calm your skin.

Yeah kat my skin is the worst! It use to never be this sensitive but now all of a sudden it gets angry when I put different products on it! I have tried a a lot of exfoliators but the day after I would break out in cystic acne! I guess the grains were too harsh and dug into my skin and I have only used exfoliator that are said to be "gentle" lol so difficult!

Thank you kat! I have to look I to that sponge and try a spot test on my face! I think the best thing to try to use is like an exfoliating glove as you mentioned! But I deff have to talk to an expert about it first!
