I've been using a wet straightener lately and I absolutely love it! Does it cause more damage than a regular straightener?

Yep. Your hair is at it's most vulnerable while it's wet. Straighteners use a ton of damaging heat anyway and the ones for wet hair get even hotter. I would stay away or at least use heat protection products!
