I have a beauty blender, and I would storage it back into the plastic holder after I used it, and I was getting this black ring around it...
I use the tip for concealer, & the bottom fat part for foundation, so I was saying to myself, wow I've gotten a lot of eyeliner & mascara on this thing.
So. I decided to clean it, & the black ring did not come off...
So I looked online, & yeah long story short, I cut the mold off & I'm buying a new 1.
So now I keep it out of my drawer & the plastic holder, to let it air dry out.
But sheesh. Has that happened to any1 else? 😳

Do you make sure to dry it completely before you put it back in the container?

I don't have one put it'll happen to any sponge. Mold grows in damp enclosed places.

I didn't. Now I do. My other non beauty blender makeup sponges never grew mold, so I didn't think I would have to do much when it comes to storing it.
Now I let it sit on my dresser in the open now instead of a drawer.

Once it's dry you can put it in a container and you'll be fine.

Yeah. When I spend the weekend somewhere I have such anxiety about it. I'm like blowing drying it before I put it up LOL

Mould doesn't just appear coz it damp, there would've been a mould spore somewhere for it to land on the blender. Give the plastic container a really good rinse too or even throw it away and get a new one.

Mold spores are on literally everything. pretty much anything once placed in a damp, dark enviornment can grow mold. Definetly make sure you dry it completely.

I've been using mine since January and haven't had any problems with mold or even staining. I wash it every few days and let it dry by just placing it on top of the container it came in. Even if I don't have time to wash it one day, I squeeze it out pretty well before letting it dry. It kind of rests nicely on top of the container to air out and then shrinks and falls into the case.
