But sometimes they do this kind of stuff for acting. Makeup artist will do this. Models do this. This is definitely something not to be done everyday. (Even though some people probably do)
I actually fascinated how people can be changed so much just by makeup. (I want to be a makeup artist)

Yes I agree with Shannon... I will say one thing though some ppl actually like look unnatural they find it interesting... I don't feel like she is lying its makeup and it is fun to do but I can understand how it could look that way.

It's so fascinating to see how much they can change someone's appearance. It's truly art! From face make up to eye make up, it's all interesting.
This is simple contouring, either a cream contour was used or two different color foundations.
I recommend browsing the forums for different threads on contouring, you can also ask Jacqueline H. on how to contour. Contours are actually meant to be subtle, so there is a way to incorporate it into your routine.
For instance, my last foundation was 3-4 shades too dark. In order to hide that, I applied it in darker areas that you see pictured above in your photo, then using my concealer palette I would highlight. I'd blend it all together and voila! No one knows that my foundation was too dark ☺

Looks like that are generally done because when you apply foundation your face looks more flat and round. Contouring helps add dimension back into the face. People contour all the time, just subtle. That is a more dramatic look.
It's done mostly for stage make up, photoshoots, weddings, etc. so that the person doesn't loose structure.
You can always just contour your cheeks with a bit of contour powder, very subtle and won't change you. But I'm sure that was done dramatically for a special reason, not just to go to the grocery store ☺
