Hello ladies!! I wanted to know what works best for people with sensitive/acne prone skin liquid or powder foundation? I am currently using a powder foundation (physicians formula) which is working pretty well, but I was wondering if using liquid would be more gentler on my skin instead of brushing the powder minerals on my skin. please help!

I love physician formula powder foundation. I used to use that before I switched to liquid foundations. Now I wear multiple kind of foundations but the one I switched over to after physician formula was urban decay naked skin liquid foundation. It still remains my all time favorite foundation for my acne prone skin.

Ashley is the urban decay one your favorite foundation or physicians formula?

Anything made by tarte works super well for my skin :)

Liquid is more gentle the particles in powder foundation pokes at acne and irritates it.

Brandy what makeup do you use by tarte?

Renault I think I might try that! I was looking online ad it seems like tarte or cover fx would be good for me but I'm still looking online for suggestions.

Thank you for answering kitty! That is what I'm starting to think now! Because when I out on mineral make up I feel like my skin gets irritated from it and turns a redish color.

I love the liquid foundation by tarte, I have super super sensitive skin and it's the only foundation that doesn't break me out in hives or acne. I'd suggest going to sephora and getting a sample if you can, because honestly since I've been using it (about a year now) my skin has never looked better with and without the foundation on.

No problem Nicole :) It's why I always say wear mineral foundations sparingly.

Alyx I think I might have to pick up a sample! My face is so sensitive too! Is it called something specific or is it the only liquid foundation that they have? Because I think they have bb creams too and other things.

Kitty do you know of any brands that are good for sensitive skin? So far it looks like it either tarte or cover fx and I have oily skin as well.

It's the Amazonian clay foundation. I'm pretty sure it's the only one they have. It's in a dark purplely brown bottle with a bamboo cap. :)

Thank you so much Alyx!! I'm going to sephora now to see what they have and I'm going to ask about cover fx because I have heard about that brand as well!

It doesn't matter the formula so much as the ingredients I've found I can wear liquid or powder as long as it's noncomedogenic and oil free - for liquid foundation I like Clinique, Estée Lauder, MUFE, kat Von d n dermablend - for powder I only like kat Von d it's the only full coverage powder that doesn't look or feel cakey or heavy on me

Oh and cover fx is great too.

Thank you Stephanie and Diana! I will look into both brands! I have to do some research before I start buying!!

I agree with Diana...powder or liquid I have to know what the ingredients are first and foremost. And if a product requires use of brush I clean it after every use to avoid any adverse reactions. CoverFx I've tried and had no issues...I have sensitive/acne prone/aging skin/oily,combo skin. Maybelline FitMe foundation stick is my beloved drugstore foundation along with Garnier bb cream for oily/combo skin. I also have Bobbi Brown foundation stick (the reformulated formula) and its fragrance free and its caused me zero grief.

I would use liquid foundation. You can even use a bb cream. Not full coverage either. I once put just powder on my face and I broke out 😏

Sorry I just got saw your comment. urban decay is my all time fave liq foundation.

Yeah Shelley I'm trying to look for a liquid one because I think the powder just pokes at my face when I put it on and irritates it!

Yes diggie I realize after I out powder foundation on my face turns bright red and it's not red to begin with! So I'm starting to think it's the powder foundations that bother my face!
