foundation is an important step in makeup for creating a smooth and perfected base for makeup application. just like the foundation of a house its the base to which the rest of your makeup look will be built. it can help even out uneven skin color and camoflauge any imperfection there are many formulas, textures and coverage types available so you can find one that works for you. you first want to figure out your skin type and how much coverage you like as well as finish then you'll need to match your shade. I love foundation and wear it everyday I wouldn't leave home without it :-)

How can I get a good coverage with my makeup, to cover acne all day?

try a full coverage formula I like to use a flat dense synthetic brush to stipple it all over the face then buff in using circular motions to blend in

I would definitely get a concealer to use if you have acne! Bobbi brown makes a great concealer. Pop it on the problem areas with a concealer brush, or if you don't have one use a clean finger, and then go over it all w foundation :)
