French braiding... HELP :(

Okay, I've tried watching so many tutorials on french braiding but then trying it myself.. I just can't do it!! A lot of people say it's pretty easy, but I just can't seem to get it right. I know how to do a regular braid. Does anyone have any tips on how to make french braiding easier??
