Idk what balayage is but ombré is from dark at the roots to light at the ends and highlights is streaks of lighter hair throughout your whole head.

Ombré is dark to light and highlights are just to give a kind of effect to your hair well in my opinion.

Ombré is when the fade goes from dark to light. It is typically a dark color at the roots and fades to a lighter color at the tips of hair. Bayalage is similar to ombré but it means to "sweep". It's a bit more subtle and will look more like natural highlights from the sun. It also includes more face framing pieces. Traditional foil highlights are just used to lighten hair and can be added to lots of different areas of the head.
