My GHD straightener

I bought my GHD straightener 4 years ago. Lately, it hasn't been straightening my hair like it used to...actually, it's a nightmare using it. I use very small sections and have to go over it again and again. Has anyone experienced this?

The element inside the ceramic plates could just be loosing it's heating abilities. I had a curling iron that was amazing and about 8 years later it wasn't so great. And that was the problem, it just wasn't heating up like it used to. Might be time for a new one...

Thanks girls! I didn't realize that 4 years was a long time considering the price and that I straighten my hair maybe two to three times a month...darn it!
