When I apply eyeshadow, it tends to have a chalky look to it even though I use eyeshadow primer, does anyone know how I can get rid of the chalky effect? Thanks in advance :)

Are you using cheap eyeshadow? I find drugstore eyeshadows are always chalky. It could also be your brush. I know when I use my rcc cosmetics brushes VS Eco tools brushes there's a big difference

I guess it could be the shadows, recommend any? and the brushes could be causing it? that's interesting.

I think some brushes pick up color more evenly, not letting a chalky feeling happen. But I don't use drug store eyeshadows since a lot of them bother my super sensitive skin, but I've heard good things about maybeline, loreal and wet n wild.

Try a cream shadow as they're more pigmented and don't get that chalky effect. I've heard of those tattoos shadows from maybelline were good, for brighter colors I use MACs Chromaline products as eyeshadows.

It's most likely the quality of the eyeshadow. I find a lot of drugstore ones are chalky and not very pigmented. Maybelline color tattoos and Loreal infallible eyeshadows are both super pigmented and not chalky. I've tried a few little revlon palettes and though the colors look beautiful in the packaging, they are terrible quality. I was surprised to find that the elf eyeshadows are pretty decent for $2. I got a quad with brown shades and they are smooth and easy to blend. They could be more pigmented, but they're great for natural looks and transition colors. Also, if you want a color to pop more you can spray your brush with eye drops or something like Fix+. It really makes such a difference with lighter shades and shimmers.
