So I have been practicing the makeup I want to do for prom, but my eyeshadow am doesn't show up. I'll put it on, but when I'm done it doesn't look like I did anything. I do use primer. What's my problem?

Try to wet the brush a little, sometimes that helps. Or maybe invest in a better primer or use a more pigmented color.

Invest in a good primer shadows and apply the shadow in small tapping motions with small amounts of products and add more as needed. Also use a base like the NYX base in white.

What kind of primer are you using? also maybe the eye shadow you're using isn't very pigmented. Maybe scrape the top with a tweezer and see if that works, if not maybe get a more pigmented shadow.

Nyx's jumbo pencil in Milk works great at bringing out the pigment in any of my shadows (:

There could be a couple of problems
1. The quality of the shadows are poor. If you have the money for it I say either buy slightly better eyeshadows (like NYX or Wet N Wild if you're on a drugstore budget) or go buy a base like NYX milk pencil and apply it after your primer.
2. Your brushes don't pick up the color well, so you could need new brushes
3. Your eyeshadow doesn't like your primer, which can happen

Can you list the products that you apply on your eyes?

I agree, list all of the products you used.

I think its probably a poor eye shadow like Erin suggested or the primer doesn't hold your eye shadow well

It's probably the eyeshadow. Try to find a more pigmented one.

I agree with the ladies above me.
Nyx has some good potted bases in a fleshtone color and white one. The jumbo pencils are good too but they crease so if your primer isn't too good then of stick with the base.

A base would really help or maybe a better primer. What primer do you use?
