I bought the neutrogena healthy skin cc cream last week and I'm definitely returning it. it doesn't seem to blend into my skin properly and weirdly looks shimmery (because of the spf maybe?)
what products have you recently been disappointed by?

I don't buy makeup products anymore without extensively looking into it/reading reviews. I also like to get a sample first if I can.
I've been disappointed with probably 95% of drugstore makeup that I've bought tho, particularly the Fit Me foundation & most Cover Girl mascaras.

Wet N Wild lipsticks. The 3 I have tried are so drying it's not even funny. And the WnW eyeshadow trios. They were limited edition, I believe, but they were horrible. I used a base and they still needed to be packed to to show up.
Baby skin wasn't a favorite of mine either. I used the tiniest amounts where I needed them and I still felt greasy. I don't know why people compare this to porefessional.
Nivea lip butters too. Man I had such high expectations for this. But it did nothing long term. I had to keep reapplying and it was so thick and weird.

The SPF shouldn't have much to do with the shimmer. SPF almost never actually causes flashback. Titanium dioxide does but it's actually a white pigment and its found in many other products besides sunscreen. Is it meant to have a luminous skin effect? It's probably mica. I agree with Kyra though, I find myself more often than not disappointed with drugstore stuff. Especially stuff like Bb/Cc creams and primers. None of them seem like they're anywhere near perfected yet. And usually American Bb creams are nothing more than tinted moisturizers. Although every one I tried offered both no SPF or moisturizer. So I was basically still just using foundation so I don't know what the point of claiming it was a bb cream was lol.
I think the last thing I was disappointed with was the Nyx butter balms. I got it in a light shade (macaron) because I hate tinted balms because they just slide all over the place and I end up with color on the outside of my lips. The color, or lack of, was fine. The formula was soft but it wasn't as buttery as I was hoping it would be. It wasn't very hydrating either :/ and I was hoping it would smell really good since all of them are named after deserts. It didn't smell bad but it did smell like blue raspberry or something. I had heard they were really good and I was loving my mega shine and butter glosses from Nyx so it was just disappointing compared to those products I guess.

Laura mercier powder foundation. So expensive, you would think it would be so great but NOPE. The powder settled into my fine lines and made me look 10 years older. It was especially cakey too, along with primed and prepared face already..

I was unable to find any reviews for the cc cream...I figured it was a relatively new product? and yes, I think it does have mica in it. drugstore moisturizers in general suck. I'm going back to my body shop vitamin e moisturizer

Oh, another fail! covergirl lashblast bombshell volume mascara. got it free in the Elle Canada spring beauty box, so glad I didn't pay for it. it is SUCH A PAIN to remove. totally took some lashes with it. and I didn't see any amazing volume or anything really. I was so excited because I really like clump crusher which I also got to try for free from the Elle Canada fall box...

I was completely UNIMPRESSED with the loreal perfecting base primer. Awful!! All loreal products break me out. Ugh!

I had the exact opposite problem with the nivea lip butters. It was so thin and left a white film on my lips. Wasn't impressed at all and I threw it out not long after I got it.

Revlon colorstay, pretty much all drugstore concealers I have tried, baby lips, revlon whipped foundation, mac black track...their cream liners dry out way too quickly

NYX Lip glosses/lip stains. those things smell and taste so bad, its ridiculous! And it dried my lips out so much! No wonder they are so cheap.

Definitely maybelline's "baby skin" it broke me out like crazy! as soon as I stopped using it, my breakouts started to simmer down.

@Kyra - Its essentially the same as every other neutral palette I have. I compared it to my Lorac Pro and the TF Chocolate Bar and the colors in it are all super dupeable. The only outstanding color to me is the orange.

Loreal true match it looked so glittery on me.

And by outstanding I mean breaking free of the norm of everything else. The Chrysalis palette is very pretty. I'm using it in my palette parade challenge next week.

Milani liquid liner, and I'm also having issues with the stila stay all day waterproof liner :(.none of the liners want to stay on the inner part of my lid. Another fail would have to be a wet n Wild lip gloss/ lip stain. Idk what it is classified as but it made my lips look really dry and flaky. but once I took it off my lips were fine. Another thing would have to be that butterfly mascara, I think it was by L'Oreal. lol sorry I can't remember all the things that I have took back recently because they were all so awful!

For some reason I didn't like cover girls liquid foundation; I thought your smelled funny and it seemed to be cakey. It also wore off(buts that's probably because I have extremely oily skin)
