I managed Lancôme for years and always questioned the Lancôme taught idea that if one wears an anti aging skincare product that is too advanced for their skin that they can prematurely age the skin. For example, a 20 year old who wants to prevent fine lines and wrinkles by using an anti wrinkle serum can actually cause her to prematurely receive wrinkles. I'm no esthitician but I'm not sure I quite understand this theory. Any ideas?

I was instructed by my dermo and chemist husband that using advanced anti-aging products can be too rich for the skin causing it to rebel with possible acne and/or irritation. I use a high-end day cream that addresses aging skin and my 13 year old decided to try it out without my knowledge. She thought she could pull a fast one but I knew she was in because I could smell it and plus it just sat on her skin...as with my 38 year old skin it just drinks it up. She went to school with it on and the next morning she whined about 2 zits in her t-zone. On another thread here I explained to one young woman who 20 to just focus on prevention with using a great antioxidant serum and a moisturizing sunscreen for day and using glycolic serums for PM care leaving the more richer creams and serums for the mid to late 20's when the skin begins to experience some serious change.

I don't think using anti aging products will cause premature aging in younger faces.....just cause a lot of breaking out.
