Any tips on applying lip liner?

I have a hard time applying lipliner (I don't have a steady hand) but I need some defining to my lips. Do you have tips/suggestions for flawless application.
& also can you recommend some staple lipliner brands/ colors for the basic lipstick colors, bright pink, light pink, nudes, & purple. Thanks so much :)

I usually use a dark matte pink and I just put my elbow on the table to get my harm steady and thn apply it.
