Sooo I have the hardest time creating a smokey eye look. Any advise? what colors would be good for brown eyes?

P.s. A smokey eye doesn't have a eye liner with it. also think smoke. What does smoke do? It raises. So when you're bring your smokey colour up remember to soften the hand a blend upwards. You can also you a lighter colour to calm your darker colour down xx

A smokey eye is the smudging dark colours around the entire eye. The smudging creates an beautiful messy (but well blended) look. You need to blend the colours together seamlessly to prevent any harsh look. You want to graduate the rich and dark colours to a light color. So unlike the gradient where you go from light to dark. You so the opposite. You go from dark to light. If you don't blend, blend and blend you won't get the right look. You will end up looking like a raccoon or a zombie.
This is how I do my smokey eye. I apply the lightest shade from my crease upward onto my brow bone. Then I cover my lid with navy or black blend it up into my crease with my MAC 217 brush and then finally add more of the darker shade I've used and apply more onto my lids. Lastly I take the same dark colour and apply it under my lower lash line and blend. Remember blending is the key. Once finished take a good look in the mirror if you can see where one colour begins and the next ends then keep on blending. Don't ever forget to put on mascara or a set of fabulous falses and there you go. You've got yourself a smokey eye xx

Ok so it's officially 1:51am and I should be in bed dreaming about makeup 😄😄. I promise you a smokey eye doesn't include a winged or any liner.
I include a wing in my if it's a navy look and false lashes coz I hate she's the line on false's

A smokey eye doesn't have any harsh lines. But you can use liner as your smudging base color. Tons of people use cream liner or a smudgy pencil liner around the lash line then blend with eyeshadow of the same color. But there is no harsh lines or winged eyeliner.

A smokey eye is an organic smoked look using liner/kohl and most oftne times three shadows; black, dark brown, and tan. Or something along those lines. The liner can make or break a smokey eye, matter of fact in my opinion, aside from blending your shadows, the liner is the most important part...
What you should do to get a smokey eye:
- Prep and prime your eyes like you wish to, and here we go!:)))))
- Apply a black liner, kohl pencils work best because they have excellent pigmentation and staying power, and they are very smudgable. In a sense you want to rim your eye with it. Not your tear duct of course, but liner you eyes like normal, but make the top a bit thicker. Then take a brush and blend it upward diffusing it until there are no harsh noticeable lines.
- Next add your shadows; Alma says you want a fire to smoke effect, so dark at the bottom fading upward getting gradually lighter.
- Blending is very important, you want your transition to be so smooth and flawless that you can not tell where one color stops and the next starts.
- After it is blended and all done, finish off with your mascara and what not!:))))))

A smokey must have the smudged liner, not winged or anything like that, it is the very thing that can make or break your look. Trust me...
Another tip for blending:
- Always use a separate clean brush to blend. If you use one with product already on it, it will simply muck the colors together, and it won't be pretty. lol!:))))

No I didn't mean you couldn't use a eyeliner to create the smokey look I meant it as you don't include an eyeliner in the finish look xx
