How to clean make up brushes?

How do you clean your makeup brushes? I'm currently letting them soak in warm water with coconut oil and purity cleanser. Is that not good? How long should I leave them in there for? Also how do you dry them? Air dry?

I wash mine with baby shampoo in hot water and swirl it on my hand until the water runs clear. then to dry them to prolong the life of the brushes, I air dry them by laying them on the edge of my vanity so the head of the brush is hanging off the edge so all sides of the brush air dry at the same time and the head of the brush can retain its shape. It makes the brushes last a lot longer:) I'd suggest making sure you swirl the brushes on your hand or something to make sure all the product and bacteria gets out. Also use warm water to kill bacteria. But if you want to soak them before you clean them then I'd do it for like 10 minutes or as long as it takes for the water to cool off:)

I wash mine with half a plate of oil and the other half with dish washing detergent swirl it around run it under water swishing it in your hand until the water runs clear
