Fine hair trouble...

Hey, basically I'm a teen with fine brown hair. I really want to try different thing with it but as its so fine I'm worried it doesn't look good. I like having t up around the house when nobody could see me but when I get out I normally have it down. Also as its summer it's getting a bit hot. I'm just giving up hope... Please help will mean a lot to me thank you :)
