Yes Ellis and I totally recommend it but be sure to use the real henna, not mixed with other chemicals and be sure to read all you need to know about it or ask me if you have questions.

And, the real henna is only red and the color it'll leave on your hair depends on your hair color.

If you get the right one, I assure you it will make your hair very healthy and soft.

My roomie uses the natural Henna dye from lush cosmetics, it contains henna but other natural dyes also, and it colours your hair into red and deep brown depending on which variation of the lush dye you use. Although, natural henna only imparts red colour to your hair. Both lush henna and the all natural one are horribly messy rituals when it comes to application and smells really strong. I am allergic to henna, especially the odour, so my poor roomie never got to colour her hair twice, although the lush henna does condition hair while colouring and the colour was vibrant.

There's no Lush in my country but from what I've red, Lush's henna is not all natural, although most of brands claim it is.
I do not know what to recommend but it is supposed to be like a green dust.
Or you can research to buy real henna leafs or plent. That's what I bought but I don't know if they sell it in USA.
Anyway be sure to buy the red henna, as it's less likely to be mixed.
There's no sutch thing as black or blond henna or other shades.

I've heard Mahandi's henna is good but haven't tried it.
They also have grear customer service and give you advice on e-mail before you make the purchuase.

Ame it's not a messy ritual really and there are people who like the smell.
Like everything else, you first try henna on your skin to see if you're allergic, before using it.
You can also chop a little piece of hair, put henna on it and see how it comes out so you'll have an idea of what color your hair will be.

And yes, it's an amazing conditioner. I"m a big fan of henna!

Klaudia, I am sorry I didn't mean to hurt any sentiments, just that its a strong odour, my roomie likes it too but it gives me a bad allergic reaction abd a couple other friends face the same. Although I do think its messy, you have to mix the henna powder with water, then coat the hair with the paste, it drips and stains the place where it lands... also, its hard to tie hair once its coated with henna, the only way we could keep it for an hour on my roomie's hair was by wrapping in a bid headband and then a shower cap, it stained both.. grr.

Haha yes henna is very messy. I've dyed my hair with Henna many times and each time only about 75% of it actually got in my hair. There is a brand of henna called Light Mountain. The box has pictures of animals. They also mix different types of henna together to make different colors. There is a black, red, auburn, burgundy, brown and I think there may be another but I don't remember. It's an all natural brand. But yes I totally recommend henna.

Sorry Bryanna but there's no such thing as natural black, brown, awburn, ect henna!
Ofcourse they claim it's all natural and in they are not even obligated to declare what's in it.
As I said the henna plent can only release a res color which will come out different in every hair you put it.

You can do mixtures yourself to achieve a color, like mix henna and indigo to create black color, for example.

If you don't use natural henna, you won't see its benefits.

Don't use henna. it's the worst thing to do to your hair. it'll dry out your hair n forms a coating on your cuticle. regular use of it wil just make your hair brittle. Please avoid.

Make sure you check the ingredients!! I know someone who used it and ended up turning her hair green. Not like chlorine on blonde hair green, but flat out green! She pulled it off, but just check the ingredients and make sure it's not mixed with other chemicals.

Hello Ellis, I used Henna just a few weeks ago for myself and my mom and the result is fabulous.
I would absolutely recommend it. I used Henna from SANTE in "mahagony red". Sante is a 100% natural plant product, and passed the eco test with a "very good", so you get a very natural and health-friendly product. I also used black tea instead of water to better the result (as recommended in the package).

I also didn't think it was messy at all. If you put the colour into a bowl, then put the bowl into a big plastic bowl (I used an old plastic laundry basket) and put that into your shower stall. Then kneel in front of your shower and put the stuff into your washed hair. (If you mixed it right it should be creamy) There will be no mess in the bathroom. You just have to clean your emty bowl and your plastic bowl a little. That's it. Put the included plastic cap onto your hair, wrap a towel around it and wait about 1-2 hours. Then wash it off with a conditioner and voila! Finished.

The result is amazing and your hair will thank you for it :-) Hope it helped.

No!! You won't be able to use regular coloring products after until all of the henna grows out. There is something in it that will effect future color. So if you plan on dying in the future I would say no.
