Lol the title!! > :D it could be the foundation you are using. Something weird that I do...I'm not even sure if it really helps but it does help me. I always spray light amounts of water on my face to give my foundation a better consistency but don't spray too much because then it just washes it out. The light spray will moisturize the foundation so it's not dry and cakey looking. It's just a suggestion to try!

A lot of different things can cause cakey foundation.
primers & setting sprays can definitely help keep makeup in place & looking fresh for way longer. also make sure you're using the right foundation for your skin type.
what foundation are you using?

@Yaz, your foundation may not be compatible with either the primer or setting powder that your using.. or both. that can happen sometimes & cause the makeup to look cakey after some time. I would double check the ingredients list of all 3 products & see.

Yaz do you use a moisturizer?
Mar 19, 2014

Well my skin is kinda oily so I get scared it's going to exaggerate the oil but hmm maybe I should try it!

OMG lol thats probably what's going on! Your skin needs some sort of moisture and if your not doing that prior to applying your foundation and primer it is absorbing the foundation (which should not happen) then continues to leave soley the pigment on your skin and that is what's causing you to look "cakey". The makeup is breaking up on the surface gurl! Even if you just try Cetaphil moisturizer which is supre affordable then it will help! I personally recommend and LOVE First Aid Beauty Daily Face Cream. Its $20 and can be your moisturizer and primer in one. Get it at Sephora, I promise you will see a big difference.

I use a dermalogica spray between every layer of makeup, right now I'm using the ultra calming one that helps get rid of redness and it smooths my makeup out.
