My under eye circles are really dark and I need something to cover them up or get rid of them permanently. I've already tried the Revlon colourstay under eye concealer but it's not very effective. I need brands that aren't very expensive. Could you guys also tell me how to apply concealer correctly.

It is a bit expensive but I use a Lancôme cream for my dark circles. I've heard good things about the Olay fresh effects line. As for concealer, I usually use urban decay pencil concealer. I use a concealer brush and blend lightly with my fingers. Hope this helps

No one in my family has them, I'm the only one :(

If they are purple you want a concealer that has a yellow undertone in it. Yellow is opposite purple on the colour wheel and those colours blended together will dull out the dark circles and make them less noticeable. Like in my previous post, Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser in "Neutralizer" works well, it has a yellowish undertone.

I personally find no drugstore or high end concealer perfectly covers dark circles, or maybe I haven't found the right one :p It just really depends on what works with your skin some people like it some people don't. @Yessenia what colour did you use? I find some of their colours don't work well at all.
Also with dark circles the trick is to treat the problem instead of covering it up. Putting cold spoons in the freezer and then putting them under your eyes can help, also putting cold cucumbers on them can help a bit as well. A large part of getting them away is drinking plenty of water, eating healthy, avoiding stress and getting enough sleep.

Get some sleep! Always helps mine. Not much else you can do, unfortunately.

I use the same one you mentioned & its crap :(
But yes you are right, treating them is way better than covering them up for a while

I have the worst under eye circles, they're almost black! The only thing I've found that truly covers them is Costal Scents Camo Quad or their Camoflauge pallete. The Camo Quad is around 7 bucks, but online only. The concealer pallette is closer to $20 but since it has 10 shades I can use some as highlight, and others as contour. Again, online only. They work like magic though!!

I'm a big fan of Bobbi browns correctors. They're creamy and come in the perfect peachy, salmon shades to counteract darkness and brighten.

Most of the advice I learned here on BL is to use a corrector first, then concealor, to best combat dark circles. Traci L recommends a special cream to help actually reduce dark circles, but I can't recall the name. I had a small tube of it I got gratis, but it sort of burned too much for me to use it for any length of time to notice any difference.

There are a lot of reasons besides genetics that dark circles can form. Since you mentioned that you're the only one in your family who has them, I'll write down a few plausible reasons and hopefully something will help!
1. Your skin needs hydration :) Drink lots of water. Since the skin under the eyes is so thin, its often the first part to show signs of dehydration
2. Menstruation: Your period causes lots of changes in your body, one of them being making the skin around the eyes just a tiny bit more transparent.
3. Diet: Subtle and minor food allergies can cause dark circles to form. There have been many cases in which an individual cuts out processed food from their diet and seen results. Watch the food you eat carefully, are your circles worse after a junk food binge?
4. Seasonal Allergies: It should come as no surprise that hay fever brings about bags. I mean, might as well just add to the watering and itching haha. If you do have seasonal allergies it'd be best to avoid rubbing your eyes and invest in a night eye cream and an eye cream with a metal roller applicator (the metal cools down the skin and helps tone down the purples and blues)
5. Side effects: Not the movie, silly ;) Look and see if any of the medication you are taking can cause darkness/puffiness around the eyes
These were all I could think of for now. Try to get 8 hours of sleep and drink plenty of water :) Hope this helps!
