My skin is kinda dull and whenever I wear foundation I use a highlighting powder and after a while it becomes cakey. But how can I get dewy skin with makeup, and also is there a way to achieve it without makeup?

You could use a vitamin c serum for an overall brightening effect, and a good moisturizer :) other than that, eating healthy and exercising with make your skin naturally beautiful.

I have a vitamin C serum from ole henrikson I think, and it doesn't really do much I feel. It kinda makes my skin feel tight until I moisturize.

•moisturize the hell out of your skin, especially before you apply makeup
•a hydrating primer or one that offers a luminescent glow, I hear loreal has a good one but I use Smashbox hydrating primer
•get a foundation that has a dewy finish, I use mac mineralized + true match lumi mixed and it has never done me wrong. I have yet to find a foundation for my skin I like better.
•set with powder. I use mac mineralized skinfinish natural bc it's light and doesn't cling to my dry skin.
•lastly I'd suggest a cream highlighter since you say you have problems with powder ones? Benefit has some good ones also elf

For skincare try tarte's Maracuja oil. I tried it for a while but it seemed to make my skin dry :( even tho I'd have to admit it was brighter looking. Also exfoliate and scrub every other night to get rid of dry patches and dull skin

Those are gorgeous, Lexi. Do you use those over the entire face or as a highlighter? And for the original poster, you might want to try a setting spray instead of powders. :)

Turmeric and yoghurt- amazing for the skin x maybe add a dash of honey also

Tina, you should really only use them as a highlighter, all over the face can make you look greasy, unless you use the tiniest amout (smaller than a pea) and mix it with your foundation :)

Also if you have a liquid highlighter you can mix it in with your foundation if you have a foundation you like but it just isn't dewy enough. I really agree with the vitamin c treatment it makes such a difference and a setting spray is a must.

I like to mix hard candy glow all the way in doll face with my foundation and apply with a beauty blender.

MAC Fix+. It's made to take away that cakey look and give a dewy finish. Alona, unless you live outside the You.S it's not that expensive. I pay $21 for a full sized bottle.

YES! The liquid Beccas will do you soooo good gurl they are amazing! You can mix them w your foundation or put them right on top where you want a dewy highlight! They have a slight tint so if you want something sheer colorwise but still dewy try the Koh Geh Do Highlighter in IL01, its perfection
