After hearing the rave reviews I decided to buy some today. One of my friends told me that I should get a shade lighter because it oxidizes on the skin and gets darker after it has been on for a while. Has that happened to anyone else?

I think almost all, if not most, foundations oxidize after a while. Also, different lighting makes your shade appear different so I don't know if that's a possibility with that foundation too. On the plus side, if you do decide to get it a shade lighter, contour it well & problem solved!

I don't use Kat V but none of the foundations in my stash oxidize on me. Oxidization occurs when the oils in your skin mix with the foundation on the skin thus changing the color (sometimes slightly or it can be extreme). If you have dry skin its very slim to none if it will occur with your skin but if oily the best defense is to simply make sure your skincare program is on point to reduce the amount of oil you produce and second using a foundation formula that is appropreate for your skintype. I suggest just getting two samples (one lighter in color than your exact match) and trying them out for a few days before you invest $$$ on a full size.

@shelley thanks!! None of my foundations oxidize on me either except for the MUFE powder foundation that I have. I usually use Mat velvet and Estée Lauder double wear and they stay true to color all day.
