Don't use bronzer as a contour.

Do:
- Use the right foundation shade
- Take your undertone seriously
- apply color to the cheeks
Don't:
- apply eyebrows with a heavy hand
- wear a concealer way too light (that's a personal preference, it makes ones face look two toned in my opinion)

DONT use bronzer to contour.
DONT use Vaseline for your eyes/eyelashes
DO use a creaseless concealer as a dupe for eye primer.
DO use a setting powder for liquid/cream products.

Do:
Be creative
Wear what you like
Follow rules pertaining to techniques (there is no such thing as a smokey eye with winged eyeliner, or bronzey contours)
Don't:
Care about what makeup looks best with your hair/eye color. I'm a firm believer that anyone can pull of any color. None of this "you have green eyes and brown hair so the Naked 3 will suit you best." No, they're all suitable for ANYONE.
Limit yourself
Contour with bronzer
Follow rules created by society (don't wear dark lips and dark eyes, don't wear colorful makeup to work or school)

These are my Do's & Don't's ♥
Do
• Use make up to express yourself.
• Use any color, with any combination.
• Understand proper technique.
• Take care of your skin.
Don't
• Obligate yourself to a certain look.
• Push your boundaries with make up - career wise. ( Hands up if you're working a regular job! Wear what you like.. be bright bold & beautiful. Don't allow it to interfere with your CAREER! )
• Not wash your face.

I'm not sure, maybe thats not considered a "winged" eye because the is not a "stand alone wing", it has shadow transitioning into it.?? I don't really know, just speculating.

Kyra, technically, and Jackie will back me up, smokey eyes are supposed to have exactly 0 hard lines, which is what winged liner would be :)
Apr 3, 2014
Kyraa D.
@Hannah, ohh okay. thanks for clearing that up (:
I know you can have hard lines, I just didn't consider liner part of that for some reason >.< makes sense, lol!

Symone B.
Do: Wear what makeup for you and no one else.
Don't: sleep with it on (though I am guilty sometimes 😔)

Symone B.
Also, DON't let fall into the makeup is only suppose to look natural thing.
Ummmm, how about no! I get it's suppose to enhance your looks but that doesn't mean you have to look exactly the same after you put it on. Waste of time and effort. I do love me a so called "cake face" girl who wears COLOR and is not afraid to put on as much as she likes. If it looks good, then hey! I'm not knocking it.

DO: Whatever the hell you want if you like the way it looks on you
DON't: Let people stop you from doing whatever the hell you want.

Nala H.
I love the girls who can wear more makeup and look flawless. But me and foundation+concealer don't work lol I look like an idiot. So I'll stick to lips, eyes, and brows.
Do: enhance your brows
Don't: wax, tweeze, thread them to non existence to try and recreate the wheel... I mean eyebrow. Your brows naturally grow in a shape that fits your face, perfect your shape. Don't try to get someone else's brows

Do:
- What makes you happy.
- Wear a bright lipstick at least once in your life
Don't:
- Do what makes you unhappy.
- Offend others

Nala has never been more correct. Don't put lipstick on a pig!
Don't put nail polish on your dog either :s
Apr 4, 2014
Janet T.
Don't go to bed with makeup on.
Apr 4, 2014
Ember F.
Do whatever you want and don't let anyone else say that you can't regardless of age, gender or physical appearance.
Apr 4, 2014
Brittany F.
DONT listen to any of these donts because makeup should be all about you and not what others think is right hahaha.

I hardly try to comment on threads like this bc I'm with "do wt you wnt not wht others wnt". But ima have to say my DONT on thanks. DONT push your advice on ppl, instead of saying don't do this don't do tht. Make suggestions like "may I suggest this... or I personally don't like this or that and so on. I just find it annoying how pushn sm ppl can be with advice. I'm all for constructive criticism. So don't get me wrng Ill take anyones advice and criticism. I don't get offended or sad about, I welcome it. But I've notice on others threads, how some can be so pushy with advice and will get in cyber fights if someone dissagree. com on now! Thts my 2cents. No disrespect.
