Powder foundation help!

Ok so I have acne so I can't wear liquid foundation. I went to Ulta and one of the workers suggested a full coverage powder. She put it on me and it didn't look cakey but when I put it on it does! What can I do to stop this? I also put on primer before makeup.

What brand of foundation and primer and what brush are you using? Try buffing your foundation in clockwise and counter clock wise with a kabuki or buffing brush, starting in the inside of your face and working your way out and down.

Use a small concealer brush to brush the foundation on blemishes, then dust the rest all over your face very lightly! Also make sure you always moisturized prior
