Dry skin and crappy foundation?

My skin is really dry thus making my foundation make my skin look worse. Any tips on how to fix this? I use a matte powder and the victoria secret primer and still no luck. Any suggestions on a good rich moisturiser?

I use kiss my face vitamin a & e moisturizer. Exfoliate once a week to remove the flaky skin and avoid using powder because it makes it look worse. I have the same problem but when I moisturize before I put on my make up, and at night before bed, my skin is flake free in no time. Good luck

Definitely moisturize ur face! Even in the morning Let ur skin drink it in and then put the primer on. If the matte powder is still too drying definitely switch to a liquid foundation. A trick I use to moisten up my skin after applying powder foundation is to spay my skin with fix plus spray from MAC. IT lightly hydrates and gives the skin a flawless finish.

Oh- don't substitute the spray for water. Fix plus has green tea and chamomile to hydrate and soothe skin. Especially helpful for drier skin. My skin is on the mend after our weather change. It was soooo dry. So this has helped me tremendously. And I use the studio fix powder from Mac so I get the powder foundation thing:)

I have the same problem. I use Philosophy Hope in a jar for Dry skin as moisturizer.
For makeup, I skip powder altogether. I use MAC tinted moisturizer or the new Prep&prime BB all over, then a little studio tech where I need more coverage. I use UD all Nighter to set, not powder.
Admittedly, the BB leaves me drier than I prefer so I'm experimenting with the tiniest bit of MUFE HD powder on my forehead, nose and chin. Seems to be okay, but I'm still trying to find a better powder.

I have this problem sometimes but I have found a solution that works for me. I use simple gentle oil free moisturiser because my skin is sensitive and I suffer from acne. Anyway what I do is, as soon as I've washed my face in the morning, I apply a toner and then moisturiser so the moisture is sealed in before it has a chance to dry out. And then if I can I try to wait about an hour before applying make up. I use all Simple products. If I don't do this my make up ends up looking horrible!

I have the same problem. I use a warm wash cloth at night and in the morning and I use pond's dry skin cream. It seriously works! Normally moisturizer stings my face but this is so soothing. I use the new YSL foundation and its so creamy, but if thats too pricey then maybe Revlon Age Defying. I used to use that as well!

I used to have the same problem! But what made my skin look better was to not wear any foundation at all! Foundation on my dry skin made it look flaky and gross! So if you dont have any acne or blemishes i suggest to not wear any but keep moisturizing your skin.

Try clinique moisturizer or Embroylisse.. they are both awesome, i use them both, also apply your moistirizer about 15 minutes before you apply foundation, just give the moisturizer time to soak in
