its like a tinted moisturizer with spf and primer all in one but careful if you have acne prone skin

I've been using them for a while now and it really depends on the type of formula you get. I'd say it's like tinted moisturizer but with a whole lot of added benefits, depending on the brand. They tend to have very few shades though, and some can be super oily. You have to pick the right one for your skin.
