My blow dryer has a few different settings I could use so I was wondering what would be the most effective for creating the most volume while doing minimal damage

here are the settings:
high speed
low speed

high heat
low heat
cool setting

and an ion switch to reduce static and frizz (which I don't use)

my hair is long, straight and pretty thin but it always goes flat throughout the day. I dry my hair upside down and use the cool setting after to help hold the volume. I prefer not to use hairspray or a round brush while drying.

That's what I normally do it on and I guess it works good enough. thank you :)

Yeah high speed n low heat if you are going to straighten - low speed if you are curling or trying to get a wave - higher heat will speed up drying time if you are in a hurry - and then I always use the cool setting to set my style after its dried to get rid of frizz n flyaways.
