I let my gay friend bleach my hair...I guess it is a stereotype that gay men know hair...NOT ALWAYS TRUE! I am stupid for letting him do this...but...my hair is now patchy all over...brown and orange-blonde...I have never had any type of dye or bleach minus sun-in in my hair. What should I do to prevent it from falling out?????

I've had this happen to me...my hair was over processed to the point that I can stretch my hair strands like a rubber band ... Try a deep conditioner and less heat in your hair

Same thing as the person above me. my hairs was like rubber. Get some type of deep nourishing and repairing treatment. Wash your hair and rinse with the hottest water you can handle to open the follicles, then really work it in. Sleep with it on while you wear something to protect your pillow case if you can, and rinse with lukewarm water. Your hair will feel healthier and shinier instantly. Hope this helps! good luck!

Thank you guys! I am sleeping in coconut & olive oil tonight. Just very worried because I have been growing out my hair for 4 years!!!!!!

Oh, I would probably not put super got water on your hair. Your hair follicles can open up from a hot oil treatment such as coconut oil. Sleep with it overnight and wash it out with cold water. Also definitely don't use any heat on it, and start being very very gentle with it! Try not to wash it very often! But deep oil treatments will so wonders. My hair was so fried and damaged from bleaching it and its taken quite a while to get healthy again. It's a long process but you will see results! Even try putting a dime sized amount of argan oil in your hair after you wash it! Good luck pretty lady!

Thanks Jordan! Sadly, I have to wash every day due to my hair type. I am going to be doing oil treatments as much as I can. I am so worried. :(

Whatever you do don't brush it when it's wet that's when your hair is the weakest. Stay far away from heat. I think you should put a conditioner mask on it and braid it that way it doesn't get tangled when you sleep but don't braid it to tight.

Invest in dry shampoo and do not use the hottest water you can find! Once you open your hair's cuticle it won't shut again completely- hence bleach damage...you've just blown your cuticle open chemically. I'd look into a professional for the color correction and care. It may be pricey but it will ensure the last 4 years of growing are down the drain.

Okay thank youuu! Any good conditioners?

Try out bedhead's urban antidotes shampoo and conditioner. The level three is specially designed to help people who went a little to far with processing. That's what i used to save my hair from the damage i did bleaching it myself. The coconut oil will definitely help you out too!

Biolage has a great one I use it and like Kevyn said bedhead has one too called dumb blonde that would work to.

'It's a 10' is a great line with good conditioners. I have used Neutrogena deep conditioners and really like those too! Good luck!

Make sure you putting protein back into your hair too, Sally's sells a protein filler for about $2, put it in your hair before your shower and rinse it out when you're done in the shower. Hope your hair gets better! I promise we're not all challenged ;)

Wash your hair in cold water, don't use heat, coconut oil treatments work, but I found doing 2 deep conditioning's one day, and a calcium treatment the next works.

Oh and egg yolks and good olive oil, 15 mins once a week

Ahhh thank you so much. I feel better already. I'm also trying to fix the color...since it is less than pleasant.

Just don't bleach it again for a few months, pic a color close to what yours is now, and mix it with a lightening toner. If you go to Sally's and ask them they will help you out a lot :)

i also had rubbery hair from bleaching... i got the ends cut off , about half an inch to an inch ( didn't want to loose too much length) so the ends wouldn't split any further, i use a leave in conditioner with keratin, wash twice a week ( youll need your natural oils believe me! use a good conditioner, baby shampoo and coconut oil. my hair is not rubbery anymore and is even shiny again:)

Redken cat treatment is amazing! Their entire extreme line works really well, and for toning it I would recommend ag's sterling silver shampoo & applying it on dry hair helps it work even better.

tigi dumb blonde and a ph balancing conditioner are two really good options to supplement the aforementioned options.
