Some people say that when you cut split ends your hair will grow. How does split ends prevent it from growing? Just curious
Other people have said it doesn't matter because your hair grows from the roots not the ends..
So what's your opinion? Have you cut your split ends and noticed better growth? Thanks!

Your hair works on fixing the split ends instead of growing. When you cut your hair, it takes off split ends and allows hair growth.

It is a myth. Well, if you cut your split ends your hair will be growing and looking better of course. I think this is due from the fact that when you don't cut your split ends for a while it will "climb" higher on your hair and you will have to cut all the bad ends. Good question though!

I always thought that was just a myth until about a year ago. I realized my hair wasn't growing at all (my hair was dyed so I would have been able to see the growth) and this lasted a few months. Absolutely no growth. So I cut my split ends, and within a week I saw my natural color growing in.
