I've never tried glaze, but I have lots of glosses and they all make my hair very shinny.

I love John Frieda's new gloss! It by the hair color and not the hair products... And I don't think it will make your hair oily. Also, if you want softer shinier hair, the I recommend using a mask/deep conditioner like Macadamia (ulta).
