Nice color! But you will spend hours at the salon and you will spend big money on the up keep! Very damaging as well. What color is your hair now? It will have to be pre-lightend first then toned.

Oh, and when your roots grow in, just bleach them, and only bleach your roots, then keep with the toning, purple shampoo, deep conditioner.

My hair is this light. It's extremely damaging, expensive upkeep. It depends on what color you're starting at to truly tell you how damaging it will be. I do hair and I cannot even manage my upkeep (but I have hairdresser friends who can) It's incredibly costly and it could go really wrong.

I for one think that it's very beautiful and I don't appreciate the "just looks stupid" comment at all. Insecurity is not very pretty.

Tori, your hair will likely take a lot of damage, but if you find the right stylist, take it slow and hold up your end of the bargain by using the proper products at home, then I say, go for it if it's what you want! I'm currently in the process of lightening my almost black brown hair to a light brown with platinum chunky highlights and at the moment, my hair is gold and medium brown lol. Next week, I should almost be where I want to be with it!  :)

this is the color of my hair right now! go to a professional (who did his hair the same color after he saw how mine came out!) and I have him bleach it for me. He uses tigi catwalk bleach witha 10 or 20 developer to attempt to cause as little damage as possible. I usually tone it myself because I have to match my extensions to my hair. I use Wella Color Charm in T18 to achieve a greyer look and wash it with Clairol's shimmer lights shampoo &conditioner every time I wash my hair to give it a bit of a violet tone. Using the shampoo and conditioner less will eliminate yellow tones but not turn it purple, its just a personal preference of mine. Wella also has a toner I've been dying to try called "Cooling Violet" which is much greyer than the T18(palest ash blonde), but it is never in stock when I am at the store so I haven't gotten a chance to check out those results yet. T18 s definitely sufficient for this look though (as long as your bleached base is light enough)

My hair could be in better condition, but it s not terrible. I haven't seen my natural color in about 12 years, but it is a medium brown, I think. I had red right before I chose to do silver. I use coconut oil on my hair whenever I get the chance and argan oil or "it's a 10 with keratin" leave in conditioner after I wash it(about 3 times a week). I do use heat to style my hair every day since I have to blend my hair with extensions, but eliminating heat would save your hair from a lot of damage once making this transition. Once my real hair is a bit longer, I will be eliminating heat from my routine. My ends are less than desirable but I am waiting for my hair to get longer before I trim the ends. You may have to cut your hair when bleaching it this light, I had to chop off quite a bit during the initial bleaching process. I had white hair all throughout middle school and high school and I always had to keep short(shoulder length) hair because it was so light and damaged the ends of my hair.

As far as upkeep goes, I find it high maintenance because I have to take care of my extensions and match them perfectly to my hair. All of my upkeep stress is dealing with frequent toning and matching. The bleaching isn't that bad. I get my roots done every 2-3 months, which is about twice as long as you're supposed to go between touch ups(6 weeks average), but I don't mind roots too much and my hair grows super slow(and I usually have an ambiguous part that is never straight to distract from the regrowth). I do have a professional(i only trust the salon owner/master stylist) do it because I would rather dish out a bit of cash for someone to do it correctly than spending even more money on color correcting and possibly damaging my hair more than it has to be damaged.


I say go for it, I love my hair color and I get so many compliments and questions about it. Just be aware of the damage that can happen if you push your hair to a limit further than it can handle. "listen" to your hair and try to be gentle, but you can do this, just be patient and calm, and employ some help! =)

To avoid as much damage as possible make sure to moisturizer your hair a lot. Whenever I bleach my hair I use a deep conditioner that I leave in for 5 to 10 minutes. Also when my hair feels dry I use Moroccan argan oil after I shower. You can buy it at target for 6 or 7 dollars. It makes my hair really soft and also helps to add hydration.
